Publisher's summary

He makes dirty sound so good. So right.

The moment I heard his velvety voice growl that I’m his "Kitty Kat", I knew I was in trouble.

Derrick "The Love Whisperer" King gives out relationship and sex advice on the radio to everyone, but he’s giving me something a bit more personal. Nobody’s ever talked to me the way he does. Daring, demanding, sexy...and oh, so dirty.

Maybe we started this whole thing a little backward, sex first and getting to know each other after. But I'm starting to let my guard down, my untrusting heart beginning to think that maybe fairy tales do come true. Even for me.

I feel beautiful and hopeful when he worships my body. I feel dirty and naughty when he whispers filthy things in my ear.

But is it real? Can something so naughty really be good for me?

And more importantly, against all odds, can it last...forever?

Dirty Talk is a full-length romance with a happily ever after, no cheating, and no cliffhanger!

Hotter than Hot

I read this ebook first so I knew the story and how great it is. Now having the audio is absolutely fantastic. Derek and Kat come to life, the heat is 10 times more. The narrators are just great, the dual characters just brought this 5 star book up to a definite 10.

Female narrator must be joking

I passed on another book solely because her narration was the absolute worst. She rushes through the line and then lands on the last word with a curl or something and draws it out...every, single, time. Every line has the exact same annoying tempo. How does she get work? I couldn’t believe I didn’t pay more attention to the sample but picked it up within seconds in the audiobook and looked up the narrator of the other book I passed on and sure enough it was her. I returned a book for the first time ever, followed by one narrated by Maxine Mitchell. Bad narrators will destroy material.

Dirty Talk is the name of the game

Well, the title of this book says it all. As in, it describes the entire content of the book. If non stop dirty talk is what you’re looking for, this is it. If you’re like me though and prefer a little more substance and realistic storyline in your books, then I suggest you skip adding this to your TBR.

We start off with Kat realizing her boyfriend, who she admittedly doesn't like all that much, cheated on her with a social media star. She realizes this by recognizing a picture of his… well, his lower appendage. That alone was enough to make me pause. Is that even possible? I mean I guess if it has a super distinct curve maybe but… I just don't know. Anyway, she calls up ‘The Love Whisperer’, a super sensation talk show host to debate the woes of her situation, even though, as we said, she doesn’t like the boyfriend all that much. The host, Derrick, feels a connection to her and asks for a follow up. She agrees, and that leads to video action, then, actual action.

That's basically where they lose me. I can understand Derrick’s endless ability to talk dirty. I mean, it's his job. Of course he can turn every situation into innuendoes. But he literally turns EVERY situation into it. After a while, I was looking for a break in the dirty talk to return the actual story line again, but it seemed too much to ask for. Kat, or Kitty Kat, as Derrick calls her (original right?), is pretty reserved and not very sexually outgoing, yet Derrick manages to bring out her ‘inner sex goddess’ pretty much right away. Okay, I can see her falling into that role pretty quickly as she lets go of the reservations and discovers herself, but she is instantly an expert. She magically turns every line into the perfect, over the top extremely dirty, visual that honestly just felt like too much for me to find realistic. I might have become just a little dizzy from all the eye rolling.

I do need to say there was SOME attempt to maintain a storyline, but it was predictable, and most of the plot points just felt like “filler” material to me, to keep the dirty talk moving along. I will admit that I was a little impressed with some of the creative ways the author managed to say the same exact thing over and over though. I will give her an A for creative effort on saying the same dirty line in new and interesting ways. On story and character development, however, she needs a complete do-over. I have surpassed my quota for hearing all things dirty for at least a couple months… which, considering I listen to mostly romance these days, that says a lot.

Sebastian York’s performance is exactly Sebastian York. It’s what we've all come to know and expect from him. As one of the top casted romance narrators, we can expect him to successfully pull out all the tricks when it comes to talking dirty. He is a pro at it and the steady baritone of his voice makes it flow effortlessly. I honestly don't think anyone could have pulled this book off with the same smooth quality as he did. He was the perfect narrator to carry this book and it plays directly to his strengths as a narrator.

As for the female narrator, this was my first Tracey Marks narration and I was left with mixed feelings. I’m not sure if it was the story or hearing her alongside the pitch-perfect Sebastian York, but I just wasn't feeling her. Maybe I'm just not a fan of her style, but to me it felt a little forced. Like she was trying to hard to sex up her voice to match the tone of the book or try to be at the same tone as her co-narrator. She simply sounded like she was trying too hard for me. I also noticed several of her sentences just trailed off instead of ending definitely, so it messed with the natural flow of the story a bit (what story there was). I found her tone in this book somewhat automated, but again, that could be because she was forcing herself. I will have to listen to some more of her work to see if it’s her style, or the content she was reading.

I know that sometimes we all just really want to hear Sebastian York say dirty things in our ears, so if that's what you need this afternoon, then this is no doubt a great choice. As a well rounded book however, this just didn't make the cut for me. I just couldn't ignore the flaws enough to enjoy this one.

omg hott

Sabastian York's voice telling Kat how to pleasure herself is so freaking hot. That mans voice is sex on steroids .
This is one of the hottest books i have heard in a while. I loved the storyline and the characters . I would love to see a few of the side characters get there on story.
The love whisperer can talk to me any time. Lauren Landish has a big hit on her hands. Weather you read or listen you can't help but fall in love.

Hot Damn That Was Good!

Would you consider the audio edition of Dirty Talk to be better than the print version?

Hmm, I think they both were equally amazing!
Reading the book first gave it a familiarity, so I already had more investment in how I felt the characters should be " be " luckily they turned out just how I anticipated!

Who was your favorite character and why?

* Sigh *
Seriously, is that even a question for this book? Ha. The Love Whisper Derrick! I mean really! Funny, sweet, old-fashioned, and seems to know his way to a women's heart and other happy zones! He seems to be the perfect package! #swoon city!

Which character – as performed by Tracy Marks and Sebastian York – was your favorite?

See, I don't do well with this question- especially when I liked both characters portrayals in a dual narration!
I honestly liked them both! I think Tracy Marks was on point with her emotional fluctuations of Kat- it is exactly how I perceived her to be!

And Sebastion York pulled of Derriks characters really well! I love how he was able to be swoony ( What that actual sound is I don't know, but it was there ) one minute, then switch to a more monotone voice the next was excellent!

Together these two made my audio experience with this book even better!

I give both of them credit for reading all that wonderful " Dirty Talk " Lauren Landish writes!
My husband caught a partial paragraph- said there was no way he'd be able to do that!

Was this a book you wanted to listen to all in one sitting?

Yes! I had to take a few breaks! But I finished this book in one day!

Any additional comments?

I LOVED this one! Having already read the book. I decided to give the audio a try while waiting for the next book, I am sooo glad I did! Well worth the credit and time well spent!

The Love Whisperer!

Kat has just found out that her boyfriend has been cheating on her and she has lost faith in both men and relationships. She needs an impartial opinion so she calls the Love Whisperer for advice.

Derrick is the Love Whisperer where he gives out advice on his radio show about everything and anything to do with relationships. When he receives Kat’s call he is drawn to her and wants to do much more than give her advice. As she continues to call in they have a connection and agree to exchange numbers so that they can connect outside of the show.

Derrick believes he has found the one he has been waiting his whole life for but Kat has only experienced pain when it comes to love but will he be able to break down the walls she has built around her heart?

I enjoyed the way both narrators brought the story to life. I voluntarily reviewed a complimentary copy of this book

Perfect venue for an audiobook!

How often have you heard a voice on the radio(or in a book) and fallen in love with it? I know there are many times I have listened to someone and thought...WOW, I wish I knew him. In this book, we get to meet the man behind the microphone! Derek is the Love Whisperer on the radio, giving advice to people for relationships. When Kat calls in one night, there is something about her that draws him in and from there, a relationship is born. Not your typical way of meeting someone, Landish has captured this story with the use of technology and made it believable. This couple is a lot of fun, from the "dirty talk"(and yes, it is pretty dirty!) to their trysts, to their everyday banter. While the humor and heat drives the books, there are some very good messages given, like how important communication between couples can be. I thought it was well thought out and completely entertaining.

Now for the narration. You can't give a DJ a better voice than Sebastian York, he just melts the hearts of all those listening to his radio show. His delivery, both in the heat of passion and in humor is flawless. Give him Tracy Marks the narrator to blend with and there is pure magic. Kat is acted with vulnerability and strength, and you can feel how she changes through the book just with the inflections Tracy gives her. These two talents made me smile through the whole book.

HOT, SAUCY STRANGERS IN THE NIGHT

I received the book for free to Give My True & Honest Review, but heck had to get it in audio.

Derek reminds me of THE MIDNIGHT CALLER if anyone remembers that weekly programme back in the late 80's/early 90's
Derek is a hot sensual love host whom gives advice on how to Give advice on & receiving sexually activities.
And this is how Katrina 'Kitty Kat' (Kat) a computer games designer, who rang for a bow out. And the connection between these 2 especially in their off air time & their bodies JUST BELONG TOGETHER, They SHOULD Be TOGETHER.
Beautiful HEA of 2 Soul Mates destined to be together 💟💘💞
