Publisher's summary

Aly

It's been 12 years since I've seen him, but loathing Emmett Hoult still runs in my blood. Thanks to the hell he wreaked on my teenaged life, I've avoided the prick like the plague. But desperate times call for desperate measures, and after a fire destroys my apartment during the most important week of my life, I'm suddenly as desperate as they come.

Hence the roommate situation. It's his summer home. His family said he wouldn't be around. They said I'd never run into him. But oh, did I run into Emmett Hoult. And in the worst way possible.

Emmett

I didn't expect to see her ever again, let alone the way that I did. But now that she's back in my life, I'm not screwing things up. She still hates me - I know that - but it won't stop me from chasing the only two goals I've made for this summer. Making things right. And making her mine.

Contains mature themes.

Disappointed in misleading narration

I know it's really picky, but I look for audible where male dialogue is spoken by a male and female the like. I look for books with duel narrators. I really have a hard time listening to a lady try to sound like a guy and worse the other way around. So, I thought I'd scored here! Then........each chapter is written from the perspective of the two main characters. Aly and Emmett. So, when I realized this book STILL does not narrate as per the character's dialogue, it really made me mad. Just might as well have one narrator and forget advertising it as a duel narration. On an Aly chapter, she still reads Emmett's dialogue and for a Emmett chapter, he reads Aly's. It really is distracting and even hard to follow at times. I'm only about 3 hours in and I'm going to quit. It's a shame. I may read it on my Kindle, but forget my drives now.

Dirty Deeds

A hot, steamy, sultry, and passionate journey to go on with Aly and Emmet. I loved the slow burn, the banter, and of course the fiery chemistry. I enjoyed every single moment of this book.

Great story.... so so narration

I have liked all 4 books, (I listened out of order) and enjoyed all the stories. I’ll probably look Stella on Kindle Unlimited. Characters and secondary characters were well-thought out. I enjoyed the plot twists. I enjoyed John Masterson’s narration but found Cassandra’s a bit grating. At times it felt poorly read. At other times, I just sound her to be sicky sweet and too young for the character. Maybe these 4 just weren’t the best material for her.

I love Emmett

Aly & Emmett have known each other since infancy. Their parents were very close, so they grew up together, but Aly always felt like she had to compete — especially for attention and recognition. Her dad is completely uninterested in her, and her mom follows her dad’s less much too easily. She & Emmett go back & forth between friendship & rivalry until something major happens during their junior year of high school which results in Aly being so hurt that they lose contact for 12 years. Now they’re accidentally forced back together and despite the explosive chemistry, Aly isn’t sure she can let go of what happened in the past. Emmett has a few other secrets he’s been hiding too, along with the fact that he’s basically been in love with Aly for a very long time.

I love this book! Emmett just loves Aly so much. Aly has a lot of feelings she needs to overcome but their hea is totally adorable

The decline

Ok so J have loved the series so far and the heroines in them. I hated Aly or however you spell her name. She was the most self centered person!

The irritating, female narrator

I’m enjoying the story, but the female narrator is distractingly awful. So I guess the story is great because I’ve been turning up to speed every time she starts speaking. The FLC being childish, doesn’t help. I’m so glad it was free!
