Publisher's summary

Myra Reed’s life is going great. Being a cop is great. Guarding the library of arcane secrets is great. Even dealing with the monsters and gods vacationing in the little beach town of Ordinary, Oregon is great. Then the demon, Bathin, strolls into town and steals Myra’s sister’s soul. So much for great.

Luckily, Myra has a plan to evict the demon and save her sister’s soul. Step one: shut down the portals to hell popping up in town. Step two: get rid of the pink know-it-all unicorn. Step three: don’t die while teaching Death how to be a cop.

Oh, and there’s a step four. Absolutely, positively, no matter what, do not fall in love with the handsome, charming, jerk of a demon she’s trying to kick out of town. Logically, it’s a good plan. But when it comes to Bathin, Myra’s very illogical heart has some plans of its own.

Performed by Karen Novack, Danny Gavigan, Eleanor Todd, Colleen Delany, Nick DePinto, Amanda Forstrom, Henry Kramer, Michael Glenn, David Coyne, Richard Rohan, Nanette Savard, Evan Casey, Lydia Kraniotis, Lolita Horne, Holly Vagley, Ryan Carlo Dalusung, Lise Bruneau, Siobhan Casey, Todd Scofield, Andy Brownstein, Zeke Alton, Ken Jackson, David Jourdan, Tia Shearer, Scott McCormick and Alana Casey.

Is there an Ordinary Oregon!

I would love to live in Ordinary Oregon! This is an awesome series, and so much fun to listen to! All of the narrators are perfect for each character they have a voice for. On to number 6!

Graphic Audio was terrific

The experience of Graphic Audio was phenomenal. It’s really like A movie in your head. Loved all the work the team put in so bravo to them. The story however got onto my nerves. A lot about the character Myra last book and this book was mainly about her. I could not connect with character. I was so sick of denial, denial, denial until the last 10 min it overshadowed the book. I really like the series but once Myra was brought out front it didn’t work for me. I will read the next book as it shifts back to the main character Delaney.

loved it.

Was just as entertaining as the earlier books. Can't wait to play or read the next one.

This was the worst waste of a credit ever!!!!

While I enjoyed this version of audio book, it reminded me of the way the older Anita Blake books sounded. The background sounds and music always made me feel like I was listening to a play!!

And that is all I enjoyed about this book. What a stupid story! Myra is a complete and selfish Bit$h ugh and bathin is just too good for her. I hated everything about her character, honestly this book may be the final nail in the coffin for me as far as this series goes and that really is horrible given that I love d Devon Monks previous book series. I’ve tried and tried with this series but I think it’s going to my dnf shelf. The reed sister are just not redeemable in my opinion. The side characters are all actually pretty good but how can I enjoy a book when I hate the main characters ugh! Frustrating. Don’t waste your time on this series.

Ordinary Magic is a Wonderful Series

It is rare for me to decide to purchase audio versions of ebooks that I own...only one format is my policy. Ordinary Magic ... I decided a short time ago that I wanted to have the audio as well. The whole Whispersync thing is cool. Kristine Hvam is a rocking narrator. I sped through the first three in the series happily. Then fast-forward to my next listen-through. I didn't have this title in my library. It is a very recent publication. I am not fond of full-cast productions. They just do not really work for me; they tend to feel overdone. But ... whatever. It's not Ms. Hvam, but better than nothing. But is it an unabridged version of the book? I can't tell. It is only half the length of the previous books. It never says either way...abridged or unabridged. Also, it's not Whispersync, so the switching between listening and reading is off the table. For me, then, this rendition of Dime A Demon is overall a 3-star rating. Love the book; have issues with the audio production.

Why

I've read the print version and wanted the audio since I've also got the earlier books. I put off getting this because I wanted an actual unabridged version, why would anyone want to listen to an audiobook with half the story missing? I caved and bought this version. I managed to only get through a half hour. Maybe it's just my autism but all the extra unnecessary noise had me wanting to pull my hair out. Returning it.
