Great Yarn

Where does Die With Me rank among all the audiobooks you’ve listened to so far?

Ranks in the top 10%. Prior to this reveiw I listened again from beginning to end. The English use the language with such skill and Elena is a master. It is descriptive and transports you into a world of people who have ordinary every day life experiences. There is always a twist in the tail (or should I say tale) and outcomes are not always as deduced by the reader. The chances of a sequal could be possible???

Mark Tartalia of course - Ric's performance supported the character admirably

really annoying the way the volume changes

The story was nice enough, the performer has nice a way of reading the story accept for one really annoying detail: he changes the volume of his voice. He actually starts whispering when the story asks for it. That's all very realistic and nice, but so terrible annoying when you listening to the book in e.g. your car. I had to change the volume all the time. Stupid and not very practical.

Good solid story

Enjoyed this so much I immedistely downloaded the next book in the series. Interesting characters and though the story was a bit predictable, it was well told. Excellent narration.

Ending sucked

Good story not too happy with ending I like tidy endings with the culprit banged to rights.:( apart from that I did enjoy the book.

What would have made Die With Me better?

It started out as an interesting book, but couldn't get past the first chapter. The narrator's voice kept rising and then whispering. I'm sure it was for dramatic effect but I was constantly adjusting the volume. Turning it up to hear the whispering then when he raised his voice had to quickly turn down the volume because it was too load. That was just the first chapter!

If you’ve listened to books by Elena Forbes before, how does this one compare?

This was my first listen and returned the book after listening to the first chapter. Will not be buying anymore from this author that have the same narrator.

Intriguing

What did you like most about Die With Me?

First time I've listened to this author, really surprised. Well written story, lots of twists and turns. Love the complexity of the relationships between the detectives and the pathologist. Great narration,,highly recommend

Who was your favorite character and why?

The lead detective, more interesting character than the usual Maverick complecated detectives.

Great narrator, clear which voice was which character
