I enjoyed this story from the very first sentence and never once lost interest. It’s a charming story about life, love, friendship and regret. Ultimately it’s about self-forgiveness and moving on. German is not my native language but I found the book to be well written. The story never lost it’s momentum, the characters were interesting and realistic, the setting in backwoods Bavaria was quaint, and the significance of the sheep was a marvelous touch. This book came warmly recommended on several German Buchblogger sites so I gave it a try. I was not disappointed! I also found the audiobook to be very well narrated in a pleasant and expressive female voice. I listened to the whole book in one day and enjoyed it immensely. 5-stars on all counts.

Charming book, interesting story
