Spannender Hörgenuss mit atemberaubendem Showdown
Clara McNair war einst ein wilder und ungezügelter Teenager, jetzt ist ihr wichtigster Lebensmittelpunkt ihr kleiner Sohn James, der an einem lebensbedrohlichen Hirntumor erkrankt ist. Clara würde wirklich alles tun, um ihm Heilung zu ermöglichen und stimmt zu, ihre Jugend in einer Filmdokumentation in ihrem ehemaligen Heimatort offen zu legen. Kein einfacher Job, denn ihre Vergangenheit birgt düstere Geheimnisse…
Jo Crow hat eine spannende Geschichte geschrieben, die mir anfangs etwas langatmig erschien, dann aber rasant Fahrt aufnahm und absolut fesselnd war. Sehr sensibel lässt sie Clara ihre Empfindungen, Eindrücke und Ängste beschreiben, man darf an ihrer Gefühlswelt teilhaben und spürt stets die latente Bedrohung, die sich immer mehr zuspitzt.
Man tappt von einem Rätsel zum nächsten und fiebert mit – aber ich konnte bis zum atemberaubenden Showdown keinen Täter ausmachen und war immer wieder unsicher, welche Realität die wahre ist. Ein großartiges Verwirrspiel, gut gelesen von Romanie Marty, die Clara sehr gut in Szene setzt. Ein spannender Hörgenuss!

Die Hörbuch—Sprecherin ist für meine Ohren etwas Gewöhnungsbedürftig, aber mit fortschreiten des Geschehens konnte sie nicht packen. Clara McNair, die vor Jahren ihrer Heimatstadt den Rücken gekehrt hat, ist zurück. Sie hat sich auf einen Deal mit einem Kamerateam eingelassen, um die kostspielige Behandlung von ihrem Sohn James bezahlen zu können. Nicht alle sind ihr im Ort wohl —gesonnen und alte Wunden brechen wieder auf. Clara muss sich ihren eigenen Dämonen stellen. Ob Clara aus dem Gespinst aus Intrigen und Missgunst herausfinden kann, davon handelt dieses Hörbuch. Spannende Momente, und Twists steuern auf Claras Abgrund zu bis zum erlösen Ende .Ich habe mich über 8 Stunden gut unterhalten gefühlt und gerne mehr von dieser Autorin.

Ein spannender Psychothriller, sehr einfühlsam beschrieben und man fiebert richtig mit. Eine fesselnde Handlung mit einer mutigen Protagonistin. Unglaublich was eine Mutter alles durchmachen musste. Clara wurde eingeholt durch die Vergangenheit und die hat einige Schattenseiten.
