Publisher's summary

Reverend Johnson is in the business of granting second chances to those deserving a new start, even if it means bending the rules of time travel on occasion. In Gabe McFarlain’s case, he may have gone too far....

Abandoned by his father, and raised in a whorehouse, Gabe has grown bitter to the world. Fueled by revenge and hatred, his actions leave him facing the hangman’s noose. Accepting certain death, he wakes up in a time and place that is as foreign as the tender touch of the woman who rescues him.

Down to earth and level-headed, Morgan Bartlett isn’t afraid to wear her heart on her sleeve. All she wants is independence from her overbearing mother and the freedom to shape her own destiny. When she aids a badly beaten man along the side of the road, she may have found more than a dusty cowboy down on his luck.

Morgan’s unshakable belief that Gabe is a good man slowly chisels away the walls he's built around himself. As he comes to terms with living in the future, he must decide if losing his heart is worth more than holding on to the life he’s led in the past.

Diamond in the Dust

This was my favorite book in the series.

It was wonderful to see Jake and Rachel, from Come Home To Me, in this book.
It made things feel like they had come full circle.

I was amazed by the lengths that Tyler went to to show his love and forgiveness to
Gabe.

I nearly fell out of my chair when Reverend Johnson said that he had to undo his matchmaking of Tyler and Laney, from Ain't No Angel, and
Gabe and Morgan.

I am glad that Gabe was able to finally learn the truth about his father and come to terms with the fact that he couldn't change the past.
Thanks to Morgan's love, Gabe was able to redeem himself and find his own Happily Ever After.

Love can redeem even the worst history!

Where does Diamond in the Dust rank among all the audiobooks you’ve listened to so far?

It is in my top 10% of my books.

What other book might you compare Diamond in the Dust to and why?

The previous book, which I would recommend being listened to first, Ain't No Angel.

Have you listened to any of Cody Roberts’s other performances before? How does this one compare?

Yes! This is one of his BEST!

Did you have an extreme reaction to this book? Did it make you laugh or cry?

I laughed at some of the ways that Gabe had to "adapt" to his new culture and was deeply moved by the way Gabe started to understand how he had to choose how to live by breaking the cycles of his past.

Any additional comments?

Not only did Peggy deliver and amazing sequel to Ain't No Angel (second book in her Second Chances series), but her choice of having Cody Roberts perform the book was BRILLANT! Way to go Peggy! Cannot wait for you fourth installment!

Diamond in the Dust.......Narration by Cody Banks.

Would you recommend this audiobook to a friend? If so, why?

This the third novel in the second chances series is narrated by Cody Banks he brings this spellbinding novel to life with his darkly brooding swoon worthy voice, which is a wonderful fit for this yarn. Having read the kindle e-book this audio book is good for travel. With suspense, adventure and revelations aplenty the rogue Gabe has his second chance at life anew, as with all romances they have their problems. The strong plot in Gabe and Morgan's story is one I will listen to many times. I look forward to the next novel in the series. Cody and the author have produced a wonderful way to spend a few hours. I hope you enjoy this audio book as much as I have.

What was one of the most memorable moments of Diamond in the Dust?

Gabe's honour.

Which scene was your favorite?

Gabe's protection of Morgan.

Was there a moment in the book that particularly moved you?

Their love.

Any additional comments?

Wonderful prose.

Love And Second Chances

This is a story of the struggle of hate and revenge versus a woman's belief in love and second chances. Peggy Henderson and Cody Roberts team up together to give us a truly enjoyable story that is difficult to leave until the end. My only regret is that there are only 3 books in this wonderful series.

Bad guy turns good

Once again Cody Roberts is really impressive with his narration. Somehow even with his masculine voice he can portray a feminine heroine.
This story picks up where Ain't No Angel leaves off. Gabe meets Morgan and has to adjust to modern times, which as you can imagine would be pretty overwhelming.
In this series finale you get to experience the characters from the previous two books in some way, which is nice. I like Peggy Henderson because she delivers closure with her characters and stories!

Bad Boy Gets Second Chance

Would you listen to Diamond in the Dust again? Why?

It is interesting and has new twist in throughout it. Great story and great voice narrating it.

Who was your favorite character and why?

Gabe. I didn't like him in the previous book as a bad boy, but he changed and became a very good person and you fell in love with him and his heart.

Have you listened to any of Cody Roberts’s other performances before? How does this one compare?

Yes and he is just as good in this story as the others. He has a voice that portrays the characters just right. Easy to listen to and makes the story interesting with the different tones.

Was there a moment in the book that particularly moved you?

When Gabe saw the preacher again. Can't say any more or it will be a spoiler.

Any additional comments?

Great story with a lot of emotion and heart.

I WANTED MORE & MORE... IT WAS JUST THAT GOOD

Well Rev. Johnson's been at it again and this time it's a Cowboy named Gabe who is the recipient of the elixir that will hurtle him through time from the hangman's noose in the year 1872 to a barren stretch of road in 2014. Where an unsuspecting single Mom Morgan, and her one year old son Logan, find him battered and bruised lying in the California dust and her heart could do nothing else but help him so she takes him home.... and that's when she unknowingly changes all their futures.

A nagging rich Mother, a pestering ex boyfriend, a need for a better and more peaceful life and a job sends her on a road trip to a Ranch in Montana, a road trip that's full of uncomfortable silences, doubts, suspicion and clipped conversations because she was taking her Desperado along too. But there was also flirtive glances, sexual tension, a whole host of possibilities and a steamy kiss as two people, from very different worlds, slowly learn to trust, understand, find they respect each other and become tentative friends. And when they get to the Ranch Gabe also finds a job and a shocking revelation that he's not alone as he meets another couple who have also met the mysterious Rev. Johnson.

As Gabe and Morgan settle in the sparks continue to fly but Morgan becomes frustrated because her polite, respectful, caring and oh so sexy Desperado keeps turning his back on their obvious attraction for each other, what could be and puts time and distance in loves way. But nothing could stop the course of true love.... or so they naively thought as they confessed their love, finally let passion ignite the embers of lust, consummated their bond with quickly discarded clothes, moans and groans and made tender plans for their future together.... unaware that those plans were about to get cruelly snatched away.

What a wonderful, well-written and sweet story this is - filled with loveable characters who take you on a journey of regrets, forgiveness, caring, sharing, character growth, shocking surprises, terrible heartbreaking twists, a tragic death and a beautiful love story that thankfully withstood the test of time. But what made this a truly special listen was the sexy and captivating voice of Cody Roberts who brought to life all the scenes but especially the sexy Cowboy who was haunted by his past and who thought he was worthless, undeserving and unlovable until one woman showed him the healing and life changing power of love. And Cody added all the emotions needed to bring a heartbeat to each and every character.

Worth a credit? PLH has realistically weaved a time travel tale, brought to life the Old West through Gabe's character, merged it with the new and successfully added unseen twists, intrigue, suspense, great characters and tied it up with a heartwarming romance. So, oh boy a thousand creditworthy YES's.... a dual POV listen that tugged at my heart, held me totally enthralled and left me with a smile on my face whilst doing a happy dance.
