Publisher's Summary

Darrick Lang is coming home. Years ago he left the town of Bramwell to walk the wide world as a soldier of fortune and champion of the realm.

But Bramwell is not as he left it. Something dark and terrifying has ensnared the townsfolk, something very old and very patient, tangling innocents in a web of malice and profaning the very earth itself.

Now that same power calls to Darrick, and his only hope may be to walk the same perilous path of damnation.

The Best in the Series

Very good character development, and a more complex premise then what is in the other books in the trilogy. Not to say the other books are bad, but I think the Black Road really strikes at the balance of good and evil that so encapsulates the Diablo universe. Like the other books, this story could have used more or better female characters, but otherwise very enjoyable.

Rather impressing work of fiction.

Based on a game franchise doesn't usually carry much in the way of quality. I did very much enjoy this book. It stood higher than my expectations.

Audio quality is low at points; all else was good.

The story and voice acting are good. The problem I had was the audio quality, it would crackle annoyingly at certain vocal ranges of the actor. I redownload twice but it never solved the issue. I assume it is the file.

Great Listen!

Loved this book, and Josh Clark brings it to life! The story can lag a little at times, but mostly because it's easy to get anxious about what's coming, that i get impatient. Overall, amazing book, great narrator, and well worth getting.

How they all should be.

This is the kind of story that really wraps your head in the horror of Diablo.

worth the read?

so this book was a 70/30 not horrible but far from great

okay, overall the book was 'meh' it was long, trying to wait for anything interesting too happen was taking way too long and making it somewhat unbearable wanting too continue on to the next chapter. the author on this one really had too much beginning and middle before suddenly wrapping everything up in the end; he dragged on everything.

the main character is dang near unlikeable, the way he was written was being a whiny boy who was stubborn and pretty much a cry baby, he made the whole story difficult too listen because all he did was whine and throw fits nearly every chapter he was in, wish he was better written like the main character in the first book.

again, Josh Clark gave an amazing performance his whole narration made me get through this book because of his ability too voice characters seperately, give each their own disguinshable voice and then go right back too his normal one, again, he did an outstanding job.

story; loved it, wish the main character was better written and more likeable, otherwise, loved the story but would have been handled better.

Enjoyed!

Josh gives a great performance and overall I really enjoyed it, but I did find the beginning a little slow
