Publisher's summary

The greatest trick the First Vampire ever pulled was convincing the world that he didn’t exist.

Before the now-infamous Count Dracula ever tasted his first drop of blood, Sorin Ambrogio owned the night...and now he's back.

History collides in present-day New York City. The various supernatural factions are splintering and growing desperate to maintain their seats of power.

And one man hungers for nothing more than to burn it all to the ground. Because he learns he has been lied to all along, that his centuries-long slumber may have been intentional.

Betrayal doesn’t get better with age. It just grows sharper and hungrier.

Violence is a virtue in the tale of the world’s First Vampire. The name Sorin Ambrogio will go down in the history books - even if he has to write it himself.

Good book until the end...contains SPOILERS

It was a good book until the last few hours. The author could have wrapped the story up in 30 minutes instead of 2+ hours. The other previous books were better. Hopefully, the author uses the next book to clean up the disaster of an ending in this book.

Spoilers

The ending of the book was frustrating. I am fine if an author wants to kill off key characters as long as it progresses the story, or helps the main protagonist's personal development. That didn't happen here. Key characters to Sorin and Nosh died and they basically went about their revenge while making jokes. It didn't make any sense. The characters who died deserved better.

SLOOOOOWWW

First book was awesome, second book was solid even with the slow moving last third, this book took the slow crawl from the end of the second and slammed on the brakes. I can fully enjoy a book that is predictable as long as it has some action, humor and moves forward... this does not. I ended up skipping the second half of the book and going to the last chapter just to get a sum up of the story. The narration didn't help the situation either with a style including long pauses and a pace more befitting a child's bedtime story(the narrator has a great voice though?).

Great Series

The Night Lord series is my favorite but this series (after 1 book) appears to be a close second if not equal to. It sucks that the audiobook isn't whisper synched to the kindle book like the first one is.

Good Series, Good Narration, Likeable Characters

Great Urban fantasy. If you're an urban fantasy fan, this is a good series to add to your list. I am not sure if this is staying at only 3 books in this series, but if a 4th one is written for this series, I will likely grab it.

Ah. Wow

At the time of me writing this, it's the last book in the Devils Blood trilogy. and it has been more than worth the listen... its been amazing story, and Soren is jaut the bests. Don't get invested in any character. and don't assume you know how things will end, because you don't. I'll most certainly be listening to this series again within the week

So far so good

I’ll admit after reading some of the reviews I’m afraid to finish it. I got to 3 hours remaining and started the series over. Got back to the same spot and stopped again. Not because it isn’t good but because I almost want to wait and see the next one come out before I get to the seemingly disappointing ending. I hate being left high and dry so I’m gonna hold out for the next one then finish the last few hours of this one. I love this series Sorin is one of my favorite characters yet!! His power seems to unlimited and I guess that’s what I like best. You never know how much more powerful he will become. If you’re enjoying this series and haven’t gotten into the others by Silvers start with Nate Temple and The feathers and fire series also whiskey ginger series all run parallel to each other and are all fantastic. Hundreds of hours of enjoyment to be had.

Emotional

Again it's just an epic book, great narrator, great story and so emotional and shocking but traditional in the story in a way, I shan't share toi much all I'll say is this series is my 2nd favourite series of books which is saying a lot. Loved this series a must read.
