Publisher's summary

The Book Club meets Hocus Pocus in midlife, magical mayhem. Are these four women the worst witches ever, or what?

You would think that Shannon and her coven would have their act together by now—especially after Cynthia, who is waaay more experienced in the magical realm, joins them. Nope.

With Shannon’s familiar, Robert the bobcat, still missing after being shot by Steve, and the budding romance with Devon also shot to hell, Shannon’s got some serious challenges. As for the rest of the neophyte coven members, Libby got the job promotion but she detests it. Careful what you wish for, right?

Mary-Jane? Oh boy. What’s so great about having magical powers if your marriage is on the rocks? And dear Cynthia, who is only in her mid-30s, can no longer hit the snooze button on her biological clock, not if she ever wants to have a daughter.

Despite all they’ve learned, practicing charms and trying to figure out the contents of Shannon’s Grimoire, their magic is still messed up.

These four witches can’t get their collective asses in gear, despite the Spanx.

Wait. A. Minute.... There’s no way they’re still this crappy at magic. It has to be something else.

Or someone else? But who would want to hex them up? Secret enemies conspire to destroy them. Their need for magic and the bonds of friendship have never been more critical.

Great

This is a great series! I hope there's at least one more book, but a continuing series would be better.
The entire series is well worth the credits.

Great

Loved it. This is a new series for me and listened to the first 3 books in under 2 weeks. Can't wait for the fourth audible to come out !!

The last is the best

There were errors- the husband is sometimes called Hank. The daughter was switched from Zoe to Chloe, and Shannon’s age went from 47 to 43? And some things did not really get closure (the firefightet?). But I still oddly enjoyed. Plot-wise this was is more intricate.

Twisted ending

Loved how this book turned out. You could see the tables turning in book two but this one takes it all the way and flips the switch. A fun read though there were some eye rolling moments at the petty high school sniping that popped up a lot. There are a few moments when it’s explained but I think it was slightly over done. Over all though I liked the book. The paranormal womens fiction movement is being life to those who reached the later in life stages which alone bring humor to the change of life. This book fits in well and was a good series overall. The narrators does a good job. Honestly just giving the characters a little more individual personality is my only complaint for the audio version. Her entire book is smooth with out weird changed in pitch or back ground noise, there were no repeats in lines which happens occasionally and she read a great pace.

Absolutely a great book

Another Can’t put it down from Dorey brought to a live by Jennifer Pickens. For audio book, both author and narrator must be really great for one to really enjoy the book and Shelly Dorey + Jennifer Pickens is simply magic.
In this third book in the Hex After 40 Series, Shanon discovers more about herself just as much as she soon to find out about a powerful evil someone who has a grip in her town. Great pacing, tension and lovely ending is all I can say without revealing too much the story for readers. For anyone who loves a witching story, you’ll definitely love the four great witches in Dorey’s book.

Good ending

I struggled with book two as I found it repetitive with the content from the first book. Ie friends fighting and immature for their age. I found they wrapped it up Nice in this third book. And am glad I continued with the story.

Paranormal Womens Fiction Gold

This one left me second guessing myself at every turn. I did have the correct conclusion on the who but the outcome was a wild ride. Did not expect that in the least. So good!!!

Devil in the Details

what the heck, Steve was a bad guy, for some reason it did shock me but didn't. I still can't believe it though. I glad the all worked things out at the end.

Wonderful continuation of Shannon’s, Libby’s and MJ’s story

I binged through this book (and the entire series).
This third book made me go through the motions. The writing is quick and funny - as well as heartfelt - and the narration really elevates it even more.

I feel like anything else I’d want to say would spoiler the story, so… go listen to it if you haven’t already :)

still immature...

I keep hoping these characters will start acting their age, but the writer keeps making them all seem like 5 year olds instead of women in their 30's or 40's. don't waste your money/ credit.
