I am a new scholar/ reader to Period Romances, I have found Lisa Kleypas’s writing to be light hearted, relatable and her sense of humor a ‘laugh out loud’ experience🤣. The humor in this book still puts a smile on my face and I find myself cackling more often than not. I love her writting ♥️

I found the characters well written. The Ravenals’ Series have characters I want to learn more about in general and these two did not let me down.

My ‘reading’ is done via audio and Mary Jane Well’s narration is spot on and brings the characters to life for me. I found that her male character’s narration was impeccable and don’t feel like a male narrator would have added any more ‘value’. ⭐️

Loved it, a must in my opinion♥️ Just sorry I can not buy the rest of the series in Audible.

Weak end

The conclusion is very weak and flat. The story ending’s concept is unoriginal but worse ; it’s very poorly written. I found this book boring, with no new ideas or strong plot. Also the characters’ have no depth .;as if the writer is purely writing to order to tie up all previous books in the series without commitment or enjoyment on the author’s part.

Too twee for me

A business woman acting like a dizzy teenager over a crass Scotsman. I just couldn't get into it.

Narrator does great accents

Great book in itself and a great listen too. The narrator did a wonderful Kier and when the couple arrived in Scotland the different dialects were amazing

Enjoyable

Lots of know characters, with a sprinkling of new.
The Heroine and Hero are well suited, despite their differences.
The end abit of a damp squid, as though the the word number were exceeded.
However, light weight and easy listening.
