Publisher's summary
He accepts her, but doesn’t love her...Donovan James Arthur Sinclair, 8th duke of Manchester, is cursed to roam the Earth as a wolf-shifter. He doesn’t mind the beast most days, for the life of a duke is quite splendid, but it is trying if he’s honest with him-self. When he saves a country miss from an out-of-control carriage in a rural village, it occurs to him that he might be wrong.
She loves him, but cannot accept what he truly is...Miss Alice Morrowe, is blind and firmly on the shelf, unloved and unwanted by nearly everyone she’s ever met. While she’s happy with her life, she wants acceptance for who she is. When she is thrown to the ground in a tangle of limbs by a very naked man amidst a thunder of hooves, she cannot help but wonder if her life is about to change.
A marriage of convenience that’s anything but...In her, Donovan sees a way to break his curse if he can seduce her into love. In him, Alice finds solace and the thrill of romance. She’s only too happy to wed him and grasp a life she’s always wanted, but is her love what he needs to banish the beast within? Emotions run high when things don’t turn out the way they’ve each planned. Only discovering truth and genuine love can bring clarity, hope...and happily ever after.

Usually not my cup of tea!
I love historical romances but I never listen to this type with wolves or vampires. I however received a free book by the author and thought I would give it a listen. Well fellow readers I must say I was pleasantly surprised to find I didn’t want to stop listening. The story was well put together and very entertaining. I hope you enjoy it as much as I did!

Excellent paranormal Regency romance ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
This is unlike any I’ve read as a Regency paranormal romance. Sandra Sookoo did a fantastic job writing this. I was engrossed in it from page one till the last . Donovan, eighth Duke of Manchester is cursed to walk the earth as a wolf shifter. He is in a small town away from his London home, when a woman is almost run down by a carriage when he, in wolf form, runs into her, knocking her out of the way to save her life. When she, Alice, awakens next to a naked man, she is taken aback by her situation. Donavan, can’t believe she would not get out of harm’s way and tells her she must be blind to have not moved. Alice replies she is blind and proceeded to touch and feel him to “see” the person who saved her life. Here begins their fated meeting. Can a cursed mentally scarred Duke and a blind mentally scarred spinster find a love to break a curse? The journey of acceptance of one’s self and unconditional love is one worth traveling with these two tortured souls. I loved this story and can’t wait to read the next Lord’s tale. This was very well written with well developed and believable characters. I highly recommend this audiobook. The narration was excellent with flawless movement from Donovan to his beast to Alice. Five glorious stars!

Interesting take on curses / shifting
I enjoyed this story, even though I was yelling "you jerk" at the Duke several times in the car. I'm always a sucker for a man redeemed by the love of a good woman. The language was sometimes too modern, but not enough to put me off.
The narrator was ok, but sometimes his accent sounded more Southern than English. I didn't like him pronouncing the "s" in viscount.
I got the audiobook for free with a request for a review.

Loved it
Devil take the Duke ( Lord of the Nights Book 1 ) by Sandra Sookoo. Loved this book! Amazing paranormal romance about a cursed wolf shifter and a scarred blind spinster come together in this fabulous story. I don't normally read paranormal romances but this one I could not put down. Especially the narrator was amazing. Played both male and female voices at its best. You never disappoint Sandra :)

Pleasantly surprised
Devil Take the Duke, the first book in the Lords of the Night series is an entertaining historical romance with fairy-tale-like elements. Sandra Sookoo has composted a beautiful tale about true love, fates, loneliness and many other emotions. The premise of the storyline is interesting, it captured my attention. The eighth Duke of Manchester, Donovan James is cursed to shift into a wolf. In such night when he is a wolf, he rescues a blind woman, Miss Alice Morrowe from a carriage. Will true love lift the curse from Donovan?
I thought Beauregard Neylon did a fantastic job with the representation of characters and their emotions. Overall, this an enchanting tale about true love and destiny, and I strongly recommend it. I received a free copy of this audiobook at my request and have voluntarily left this review.

Regency paranormal story at its best!
I asked to receive this free review audible book and wrote this unbiased review. This book is a perfect blend of historical romance and shifter stories. Even if you aren't found of one of these I suggest that you give this book a try. I think you'll be pleasantly surprised. This book is filled with adventure, angst, villians, hope, and love. Donovan is looking for a wife to break a curse that has made his family members into wolf shifters. By chance he rescues Alice who is blind. Because the town looks down on her, she has never experienced love. This path to love will be filled with joy but also many pitfalls and heartache. Donovan must learn to accept himself and unconditional love. The author has created outstanding character and plot development. The narrator does an excellent job of portraying the emotions of these characters. He is an excellent storyteller and a pleasure to listen to. I highly recommend this Audible book.

Paranormal Regency
The story line was very intriguing. I've never read a regency, paranormal like this. Having Alice blind put a big twist in this love story.
Beauxregard Neylon did a wonderful job narrating. This was my first Sandra Sookoo book/audio and I can't wait to read/listen to the rest of this series. I highly recommend this audio
