Publisher's summary

Buck Horton's brother was an outlaw. The only thing he left Buck of any value was a secret, the hiding place of stolen gold. Buck vowed to find the gold or die trying. And on the latter, men on both sides of the law are more than willing to oblige him. Desperado's Gold is a double barreled, two fisted tale of pure Western pulp! Buck and his partner, Ron Ogo, forge a friendship akin to brotherhood as they ride across the West in search of treasure. From desperate attempts to raise money for the hunt to staying one step ahead of anyone with a gun, the two men lay their lives on the line for the only thing that matters to them. Desperado's Gold! By Jackie R. Kays and Teel James Glenn. From Pro Se Productions.

Great narration and

For someone who would not normally read a western, I found this story very enjoyable. The narrator's performance was excellent. Wonderful flow and good diction. I especially enjoyed his portrayal of Ron.

Gripping story of the West.the

What did you love best about Desperado's Gold?

The characters captured and held my interest and attention.

What was one of the most memorable moments of Desperado's Gold?

The confrontation with the slain rebel mayor's revenge bound kin.

Which scene was your favorite?

The final farewell of the two adventure buddies.

Was this a book you wanted to listen to all in one sitting?

No, but no book is. I liked it that I could spend a short time and relax while listening and enjoying an interesting and enjoyable story.

Any additional comments?

The voices were exceptionally well done; never confused last to who was speaking. The voices maintained the level of urgency and interest. The writers, on a couple occasions, seemed to insert 21st Century terms and concepts into a 19th Century story, but that was minor and didn't interfere with enjoyment.
