A Roadmap for Creative Change-making

Designing Creative Communities is both entertaining and engaging—in much the same way that the author approaches community change-making. Spud is an animated narrator. His broad variety of lived experiences lend insight while peppering in space for a chuckle or two ... or three! I found myself inspired after each story to try something new. An ideas ball pit? Why not!? I'm re-evaluating my stale techniques after reading this. I love the clarity in Spud's CANVAS framework (must invest in the accompanying field guide!) for nurturing creative communities from the ground up. This book shows that all of us, no matter our formal titles or roles, are community builders with the potential to create opportunities for meaningful interaction and innovation...bonus: we can have fun while doing it!

A career of leaning

Hearing Spud’s story of perseverance and learning through failures was inspiring. I particularly enjoyed the chapter on prototypes. A great book for someone looking to blaze their own career with their passion and ideas! I enjoyed this book so much.

Must read for anyone who interacts w/ other human beings and deeply values relationship.

Spud has knocked it out of the park in this blueprint on how to impact change in the places that we respectively do life.

So encouraged by his knowledge bank of experience, fierce/relentless courage, communicational excellence and deep rooted heart for transformational change, with both individuals and communities as a whole.

If you’re content with people feeling isolated and continuing to grow farther apart from each other, please do not read this book;). For everyone else, let’s dive in and enjoy the ride.
