Publisher's summary

Dr. P. J. Miller is back! Following his first installment, Cute Poodles, Sweet Old Ladies & Hugs, he has compiled another volume of truly awesome veterinary tales. Come along for the ride again as Dr. Miller delivers stories that feature colorful clients, endearing pets, his own beloved bulldog, and a hurricane. All the sassy hospital staff that listeners came to love are back, including that special staff member who seems to work by her own particular standards of professionalism (you know the one).

In Designer Dogs, Awkward Hugs & Pigeons, Dr. Miller goes behind the scenes of his veterinary practice to provide a true insider's view into life as an animal doctor. He employs the same unique style of humorous storytelling that listeners loved in his first novel. Hidden behind the humor, Dr. Miller gives a deeper glimpse into how emotional and strong the human-animal bond can be. A must-listen for any aspiring veterinary professional or animal lover.

Loved it!

We have a lot of pets and are very familiar with visits to the vet. I loved this book. Made me laugh, and I learned a lot. Most of all I will be a very good client for my vet after listening to this book. A+

Light and Entertaining

I enjoy books about ordinary people that are light and humorous. I love animals, and this book fit the bill.

Great Stories and Narrator has Perfect Timing

Some great stories in this book. Only one made me tear up - Sydney the cat. The others brought chuckles or straight out laughter. Jen, one of the vet, techs, is a force to be reckoned with. Stories are all animal related with side stories of human interaction. I found this one thoroughly entertaining.

Repetitive

As a vet tech was excited about this book. Instead it was a slog. Repeatedly bashing his clients. Stories about his missed diagnosis. Disliked every character, even him. Sarcasm disguised as wit, only goes so far. Wife, mother & tech sounded insufferable. Didn’t finish as this was NOT about animals, just people.
