The language of the desert is the language of love, and like the desert, it is exposed, sweeping, and mysterious. The desert stands in the background of the author in the distance, to the east, to the west, and to bustling world centers from which he returns to his home in the desert.
The audiobook is divided into five chapters. Each chapter deals with a different subject: the desert, marital memory, family, wars, and Holocaust remembrance.

In the second part of the book we go from the timeless desert sense to the ever changing aspects of (more urban) daily life, with David’s background and history mirroring the diversity and complexity of the life of the wandering people, and it’s continuation in today’s global culture. From Bagdad to Krakow, New York, Delhi, Tel Aviv and Jerusalem.
David takes us through an openhearted journey through his life, depicting both strong and subtle aspects of the human experience: love, longing, parenthood, death, and the fleeting nature of memory.
David, thank you for sharing this personal, touching and wonderful poetry.
