An important German language source

Where does Der silberne Kugelschreiber - Kurzgeschichten - Niveau: leicht (Einfach Deutsch lesen) rank among all the audiobooks you’ve listened to so far?

When I have found Angelika Bohn's stunning three books (Der silberne Kugelschreiber, Falsche Adresse and Foto ohne Namen) on amazon.com I bought them at once because I had read and finished the sample pages in no time. Since I am a kind of colleague (my original profession is Hungarian language and literature teacher) I know what an almost impossible thing to teach some native languages (German and mainly Hungarian) for foreigners but her books are simply amazing and do their best so I am really satisfied with the result. I have searched the internet for other appropriate German (non-)fiction language sources but her books are all-time high. On the other hand her texts is smooth real literature and important language sources for German grammar and vocabulary without reading boring artificial sentences. She gave us German language learners the chance to believe in possibility to acquire German language at least to some extent. Yes, we know we have to polish our German all our lives but this is a fun thing to do when we can read her texts. Fortunately she could read her first book aloud and we can listen to it on audible because without listening a foreign language it would be more complicated to acquire it.

I recommend this to anyone who wants to refresh his or her German.

Sehr positive Geschichte

Ich mag das. Die lehrhafte Geschichte. Ich rate das Buch an. Die durchflochtenen Lebenswege von den Helden halten Ihre Achtung.

Great for Beginners!

The book has an interesting story told in a way that makes it easy to read even if you do not have very good German. It doesn't feel like it is "dumbed down" at all but is still simple enough to understand. The story line is also quite interesting with a lot of twists and turns.

Angelika Bohn is GREAT for learning German!

Ms. Bohn has several books (written and audio) that go from easy to more difficult and I highly recommend them. Her plots really draw you in. They make you feel as though you have just pulled a book off the shelf of a German bookstore or library like any other native speaker, even though unlike a typical German book, hers you are able to understand. It really gives a confidence boost, especially when you begin to feel like the only thing you'll ever be able to do is ask directions to a train station or order a coffee at a cafe. Now you will be able to say I just listened to a really interesting story, and oh yeah, it was in German.

Really good way to practice listening to German if you’re around mid A2 level

I really recommend this book for anybody trying to practice their German. I bought the book on a whim and when I finally gave it a shot, I was so surprised at how much German I could really understand.
The author uses A2 level words and the story is really compelling. I will definitely be purchasing Angelica’s other books.
