Ein steinreicher, kunstsammelnder Industrieller behauptet, das Bild auf verschlungenen Wegen von einem Unbekannten gekauft zu haben. Handelt es sich wirklich um das Original? Es wäre eine Weltsensation. Das Team der Detektei beginnt zu ermitteln. Rupert von Schleewitz, Klara Ivanovic und Max Müller führen nicht nur äußerst unterschiedliche Privatleben - von Töchtern in Teenagerkrisen über unvorsichtige Affären mit Verdächtigen bis zu einem Vater, der als alternder Aktionskünstler in der bayerischen Provinz für mächtig Ärger sorgt -, sie haben auch sehr individuelle Ermittlungsmethoden.
