Publisher's summary

A world on the brink of collapse. A broken soldier who may be their last hope.

Reeling in the aftermath of the White Tower incident, Haldin Raish is struggling to get by. What he needs is time, peace and quiet, and probably the ear of an attentive soothsayer. But the raknoth have other plans....

Across Enochia, terror reigns. Civilians are disappearing. Monstrous hybrids roam the land, attacking faster than the Legion can keep up. Across Enochia, the raknoth are winning.

And to stop them, Haldin might have to lose what little he has left.

Listen now for a thrilling adventure that'll keep you biting your nails and feeling the feels till the last minute!

I couldn't finish

A rambling whiny a** kid.
With way too much, estrogen! That's the whole story of the MC in this book. At least a part that I listened to.

The MC is a bit weak willed

I enjoyed the first book in this series but this book felt like a big step back. I will start with the main character making little to no actual choices on his own without someone else guiding him to it or the choice being an obvious one. I tried SO hard to ignore how weak willed our MC has become he is treated like crap over and over again and he just takes it and shrinks like a baby within his own mind like he never even went through all the crazy and difficult events in the first book and never grew from them. I have no idea why some authors feel the need to thrust events on characters all the time and never give the characters a second to recover or make their own decisions or at least try harder to give the illusion of character choice but no instead we have a character who acts petty and gets intimidated WAY too often on top of always being ashamed of how he acts but never trying to change it. I gotta say that book 2 Haldin just kinda sucks in many ways compared to book 1 Haldin he should have had more growth, also the romance drama lasted WAY too long.

It took a while to get traction

This one felt like it was a bit disjointed, but the story rallied well towards the end. Performance and narration was was excellent as ever. I am looking forward to book 3.
