Publisher's summary

After helping save a country on Ludus from a demon invasion, Henry and Jason could use a break. Unfortunately, life moves on, and new problems will appear, especially for their friend, the new ruler of Berber. Being orb-bonded adventurers wielding powerful magic means they have the responsibility to do what others cannot.

Some members have left, and there will be new additions. The Delvers LLC team is solid. But while Henry creates new magi-tech and Jason perfects his deadly power, evil forces are gathering. The men from Earth had better enjoy what down time they have, because it’s not likely to last.

Events on Ludus and out among the rest of the universe are spiraling toward something terrible. Henry Sato, Jason Booth, and Nora Hazard might find themselves being drawn toward the center of the conflict, or knowing their luck, fall right into it.

kinda dissapointed

this book is more of a Nora book then an llc book so far. I'm 7 hours in and hope it gets back to what made llc good. Jeff is as great as always

edit: OK so nothing really important happened out side of the prolog and maybe a 30 min period near the end

I dont have words to describe how much of a masterpiece this is. I was iffy till a henry sato motivational speech blew my mind. Thank you blaise corvin you have made my year on a horrible year. :)

Decent Addition

Like others, I was a little disappointed in the lack of plot movement until the last hour and a half or so. But overall it is a good addition to the Delvers series. I do kind of worry about the imbalance between the two main characters though. I had a feeling in the first book that the story would heavily skew towards Henry, and it seems I was right in some ways. I'm assuming there's still a lot of time to let Jason's part of the circle shine, but so far he's drawn the short straw more times than not. I was also a little confused about the whole Nora Hazard character coming into the story like we were supposed to know who she was. But I now know there's a whole trilogy on her so it makes sense. I didn't really find her character interesting enough to want to read them, but I find it cool BC is expanding the world a bit. Other than those things, it was a fun book and I'll be looking forward to the next one.

Good filler

I know this is just a filler. I even know that more could have been explained or at least a little more action. I enjoyed it for the most part, BUT BUT BUT what is he doing to Jason?! I love Henry’s character a lot, but Jason was supposed to have an anger problem he was working on. Now he seems kind of weak minded! I liked Jason’s development in the previous books. Jason is probably the most lethal character at his level and yet he gets nothing in this book. You have to use him I want to see what he can really do when he is unleashed. Henry gets more and more even a high priestess along with new skills. That is awesome. but Jason gets nothing. I seem to remember that Jason was supposed to be the smart one in the beginning. Blaise has to do better with his development for him for sure. Sorry I just had to rant about that bc it seems like a main character is being pushed to the side for side characters and that bothers me. With that being said the Other characters are good just work on my boy Jason for real. He is underrated

I loved this!

This is one heck of a book the interplay between the characters is simply sublime the other books are good but this one definitely fires on all cylinders. The way Blaise proceeds with the story love feels natural and fluid. I can't wait to know what happens next.

Thank Dolos - Nora is just a Side Character

I'm very glad the main story finally returned. I powered through the three Nora Hazard offshoot books before listening to this one so I wasn't left in the dark about that character's parts in this book. I hated all three of those books, and I'm very glad to be back on track with the main story.

Turns out, Nora's part in this book was relatively minor, and I didn't NEED to listen to her books. I wish I'd known that before I bothered, so I'm mentioning it here for others to know.

not a lot happens.

this feels like a side story. The book ended where I thought the main part was about to begin but, instead it was a cliffhanger.
