I have read this book twice. Listening to it has allowed me to step back and absorb the in depth views Myss' so eloquently teaches.

What made the experience of listening to Defy Gravity the most enjoyable?

In this wonderful audiobook, Caroline Myss explains Teresa D'Avila's concept of the human shadows and divine graces. Our shadows will appear and tempt us, no matter what, for the rest of our lives, in every area of our lives. We will need to accept them and own them. And then, she guides us through the divine graces, the powers that can lift us above gravity and transcend the shadows, manifesting our highest reality.
Wonderfully explained, this audiobook will be a companion of many years, maybe the rest of my life. I will listen to it over and over again, to fully understand all the complexity and beauty underneath the Truth it reveals.

The way to communicate the contents: how she addresses us, how she gives power to the most important parts, the tone of her voice and the pauses whenever we should ponder and reflect.

What’s an idea from the book that you will remember?

How shadow operates. How to invoke the seven graces through prayer.

Wonderful investment

So far I've listened twice. Third time with a notebook handy for writing down my own thoughts in growth. Caroline Myss touches something deep inside me. She's a great teacher (for me). I like her passion, her expressions and how she seems to take me right along with her (as though we're holding hands). I feel like I'm in a classroom and I'm her student. She reminds me of a nun (yes, I went to Catholic school for three years). Religion was the only thing I got A's in or found of interest. God was, after all, a supreme being that made all things! Today, at 67 years old, I've come "full circle" to this spot and this time I have freedom to grow as I wish. Coming across such a uniquely great teacher is a gift. Highly recommend this book.

I love it all- each time you listen, there will be a sentence that all of a sudden will resonate and it will feel like you finally understand or have heard it for the first time.

What did you learn from Defy Gravity that you would use in your daily life?

the essence of our power is our soul, this work illuminates aspects of our soul as well as of historical world events which have contributed to current evolution in consciousness and existence.

Would you try another book from Caroline Myss and/or Caroline Myss?

Never. She clearly just needs to hear herself talk and preach.

What could Caroline Myss have done to make this a more enjoyable book for you?

Had someone else read, and be less forceful and more educational.

It is really hard to review this author

Here is a collection of talks Caroline gave over time. I listened to them and I listened to them again. Each time I gain more and more insight. One time you will do the same where the knowledge will cause a little shift. Then the next time it will shift even more. Then you can read her series Entering the Castle which will take you to a whole new level! After years of listening to Caroline's work I will say I understand more! I get why we need to do all the inner work which I will admit I didn't want to do. It will lead you to grace. You will forgive, release and love. You find yourself (if it can be put that way) moving beyond so many things. When people ask me about myself, I find it hard to answer this question in a way they can understand. If you don't speak about wounds, TV, background most people are lost. I recommend this book and her work on healing yourself if you are starting the inner work. It will set the right tone for your work.

Good listen

We always want to know the answer to all WHY questions, she does a good job telling us that we will never really know why God does things. Her voice is awesome really motherly and educated, her warmth comes true and sincere.

The best spiritual teacher ever

I enjoy the spiritual tool kit offered by this author. I have read several of her books and will continue to read them over and over. I always find new information each time I re read her books.

Classic Myss

I enjoy and respect the work and wisdom of Caroline Myss and appreciate her direct, NY, no nonsense delivery. However, she did get a bit shouty at times in Defy Gravity and at those points I found it difficult to receive the message. I recommend sticking with it though because as always her teachings are pure gold.

If you want to heal, read it! Listening can transform your whole viewpoint and elevate you to a higher perspective of your illness and life path

As Always, Caroline Myss wisdom is a bliss to listen to. The good thing is that it can be listened to again and again, always giving new insights depending on where you are in life at the moment. It is always something new to learn as it is loaded with insights.
