Publisher's Summary

Are you frustrated with how messy your home is? Are you embarrassed to have to switch to cleaning mode every time you have guests coming over? But even after all the cleaning you do you still can't keep your home organized and tidy? Truth is, you have too much stuff. Cleaning and tidying would be a lot easier if you got rid of some material possessions. However, many of you fear that you may need your possessions at one point or another, and hence why your lives are so full of clutter.

Your primary objective should be to get rid of physical clutter. The environment you are in can have a lot of impact on your mental state, and if you can get rid of the clutter in your home your mind too will be freed of clutter. Cleaning will take minutes a day and life will become more efficient, less stressful, and more focused.

Using the PURGE ideology introduced in this book, you will learn how to declutter your home room by room. Organizational tips and personal experiences will then aid you in creating a home that serves you - you deserve better than to serve your home. Whether you are a hoarder or just someone that struggles with clutter, this book will take you by the hand and show you how you can free yourself from having too many physical possessions forever.

A good quick listen.

I listen to this as I clean to keep me motivated to get rid of stuff and keep moving. It's a short listen and I will probably listen to it many more times. my only complaint is all the legal jargen in the beginning. It would be much better if they didn't have that at the start.

Basic tidbits

A few basic helpful bits of info and insight. However, horrible stiff delivery full of annoying, "as such." Not particularly motivating or captivating.

I found this book to be helpful. My advice is to take it chapter by chapter.

Inspiring

Living with less means living more freely. This book inspired me to take a good look at what I have, what I need and what I want. The answer I found is that I have much more than I need and way more than I want. I've been giving away, trashing or selling many belongings since I've finished this book. A new look on life feels great.

So. Very. Good.

This was not only the first book I read on the philosophy of minimalism, but also the best. It's about more than just 'decluttering' your environment. Listen between the lines, take what you want from it and make it your own.

Absolutely inspiring!

I bought this book to help me declutter my house before I move in 2 weeks but this book is so much more than that. I strongly recommend it.

Truly a lifesaver!

I trust this book will be life-changing. While the principles are easy to understand and easy to implement, the follow through is where the life-changing part comes in. This book has provided some practical steps for keeping your home and mind decluttered! I am exited and ready!!

Hands down the best guide for clearing out clutter

I've listen a lot of books on simplifying but this is one of the best for preparing oneself mentally and emotionally for the process of uncluttering all areas of life. Once one understands the joy of less and the joy of enough, getting rid of excess becomes an exciting journey.

Got me going in the right direction

This is a great lifestyle changing book. After reading a couple of chapters I began to get rid of a lot of clutter that I had at home. It has also stopped me from spending unnecessary money on things that I would like to have but don't really need. It sets you off with the right mindset so that it gets easier to declare your home and get some wonderful space back.

I definitely recommend this book.

This is the only one that actually helped me declutter my wardrobe. Had myself a little party and cut my wardrobe size in half--not kidding, in half! I've never been able to get rid of clothes. I pulled everything out of my closets, started to get stuck the way I usually do, and went back and reread the "Wardrobe" section. Smooth sailing from then on. I will probably read it again in six months when I redo my decluttering.

Easy guide to decluttering

I’ve been practicing minimalism for a while & use a lot of the techniques mentioned. However I found this book very inspiring & actually found I stopped listening frequently to purge items that have escaped previous culls.

Insightful

A great book. Not at all patronising and very real to life. Author understands emotional attachment to 'stuff' and gives talks the reader through the process of realizing that we do not need 'things' to have memories. The book is very readable, and after years of cluttering up my home, had me starting to declutter right from the first chapter!

Listen it - it will change your life!!!

The last chapter was such a eye opener, I think I will read it over and over again. Should you get bored of tidying half way through, jump straight to the last chapter before offering the book to your local library. If you are worried about the environmental and human cost of our consumerist society and need motivation to tackle your clutter and find alternatives to retail therapy, then this book is a MUST!!!!
