English one piece

like the title says my friend recommended me this book after i recommend the anime because it sound like my type of jam if i like one piece was told to read or hear this book so decide to take a shot at it i do not regret trying it, its was an overall great time cant wait for the next one,

Great story.

Simon Green is a great author and this is a fabulous saga with a grand cast of characters. It has the lot, aliens, robots, evil plots, alter egos. It sounds superfluous but it all hangs together wonderfully.
I'm going to get the next book in the series right now.

Like game of thrones in space!! Only better lol

Absolutely loved this book! Some of Green's best work. Full of intrigue and suspense with comedy and a little romance sprinkled here and there. Exquisitely written and thought out. Really reminds me of game of thrones, and not simply because of the use of the same words lol.

Hidden Gem

I wasn’t familiar with Simon R. Green’s work prior to Deathstalker. Nevertheless, the book was on sale and the summary sounded interesting. Buying it blindly turned out being a well rewarded leap of faith indeed. Deathstalker is very well written and narrated, the characters have strength of personality, and the story is simply fantastic.
If you’re a fan of Galaxy’s Edge or martial-based SF epics in general, then you’ll dig this too.

Very Good Space Opera

Reminds me of Star wars the early version. Fighting against the oppression of the Tyranny of the empire. Owen gets on the bad side of the Empress and has to go on the run. On his way he picks up other people who have their reasons for hating the empire. Will have to listen to the next to see where this ends up going.

Very Entertaining

Ok, so it's highly derivative of numerous, obvious precedents, but after considerable skepticism in early chapters, I was surprisingly captivated throughout most of the audiobook. Much of the credit has to go to Jackson's faultless narration, without which, I suspect the review tallies would be significantly lower. (I'm giving it 5 stars Overall only because of the superb performance.) At times, Green carves his own creative voice out from a lot of otherwise cliched material. It's not a masterpiece, but overall, the result is good, clever, gruesome entertainment. I will listen to more of Green's audiobooks, for welcome diversions, if nothing else. Recommended for enjoyable listening.

Tons of Fun

I’m excited about Deathstalker. I really enjoyed book 1. Recently I’ve had trouble finding solid sci-fi fantasy novels, there’s a lot of crap out there. Deathstalker is no Hyperion, but then nothing is. No spoilers here, but this is the beginning of a very promising space opera. I will continue with the series.

Good until the end

The only real problem I had with this was the last fight. People were fighting their interiors and not able to win after easily trouncing better opponents the whole story. It was ONLY because he needed the characters later. other than that and a few grammatical repetitions this author is known for it was a fun story. The parts that annoyed me were worth dropping it to 3.5 but there's no half on here so I gave it 4 instead of needlessly dropping it more. Narration was solid if not very I spires although most of the characters seem stuffy anyway so that might account for it.
