A news media frenzy hurled the quiet resort community of Pinehurst, North Carolina, into the national spotlight in 1935 when hotel magnate Ellsworth Statler's adopted daughter was discovered dead early one February morning weeks after her wedding day. Drawn out for no good reason

Somewhat interesting characters and setting, but the story dragged out, only to have reasonable explanations revealed at the end.

As old as the story of time.

Wealthy young bride, older husband and a mysterious death. Jumping to conclusions before facts are confirmed. Attempt at making something out of an accident. That's fiction for you.
