A common, garden-variety murder...

Heroine is a moron

Wow, I thought the heroine was smart, but she constantly hides things from the police that will only make things more difficult, does stupid things the whole book. It's like she can't function without her boyfriend nearby. If she keeps being this stupid, I can't see myself continuing reading the books.

At least the narration is growing on me.

A gem in the Cozy Anglophile Mystery department

Very enjoyable, well-plotted, quite interesting characters, and I care about the main ones and the local detective. Superb setting including the village, housing, geography and stately home. The plot is quite clever, but not obtuse. A really well-written cozy Anglophile mystery! This was the best I think of the series, thus far. It is perfectly narrated throughout by Sarah Mollo-Christensen.

5 stars

As always Kate manages to stay one step ahead and figure things out. I enjoyed the way that Kate and Alex relate to each other. I also like that he's supportive of Kate and puts up with her investigating. This is a great series and I can't wait for the next one.

Couldn’t get into it

It’s fine I’m sure, just not my style, I’m not drawn to any of the characters, and don’t care for the narration. I wish the books in Audible Plus weren’t at the bottom of the pile, because they sure would help spread my book budget out. Unfortunately, many of them fall flat.

not as good as her other series

The main character always doing predictable things is getting tiring and the reader sounds Australian for most of the English characters.

It's good

This series is interesting enough to keep going but nothing remarkable. Good characters and interesting story lines, but a simple writing style.

Quirky Actress Dead in the Flowers

This is such a fun series, and this one is a favorite. Kate is assigned to look after actress, Arabella Emsley, who is as quirky as can be, and it isn't long until the strange, self-centered actress is found dead in the garden, supposedly gone out to do yoga. Now Kate is determined to find her killer. Kate's boyfriend, Alex is off on a job, and she's watching his dog while he's away. The security crew and the assistant at the house where Arabella was staying are also fishy . . . and Kate's determined to get to the bottom of it all. Great story and excellent resolution . . . with a bonus!
