In the quaint town of Blue Lake, Indiana, Lena London is settling into her dream job, but someone is making her life a nightmare....

Things are beginning to go right for Lena. She's got a new job assisting suspense novelist and friend Camilla Graham. She lives rent-free in Camilla's beautiful, Gothic house. She even has a handsome new boyfriend, Sam West. After being under attack by the media and his neighbors, Sam has recently been cleared of suspicion for murder. Journalists and townsfolk alike are remorseful, and one blogger would even like to apologize to him in person. But when she's found dead behind Sam's house, Lena must dodge paparazzi as she unravels the many mysteries that threaten to darken the skies of her little town and her newfound love with Sam.

Julia Buckley draws you in to Blue Lake and you never want to leave. Death in Dark Blue continues the saga of what happened to Victoria West. Full of mystery, intrigue, and romance this book is a must read, however you should read the first book do you understand what is going on. I had a really hard time with the narrator until half way through the book. She sounded so robotic it made it hard to listen to for awhile.

A Tantalizing Mystery

Julia Buckley has brought back the mysteries of the past. I liked book one, book two, "Death in Dark Blue" has made me a happy camper.

Sam's wife and he are at the ends of their divorce, when his wife is just gone one day. Book 1 takes you through all that. While book 2 is looking for her. Lena London and Camilla Graham are pushing to help locate her, and through their determination so are the FBI and private detectives. You will see how the press have a different views on right and wrong! Lots of twists and turns in this plot.

If you like a slower paced who done it novel---you will find this a refreshing read/listen. Reminds me of an Agatha Christie approach to writing.

Great Mystery--4/5

Fun to return to Blue Lake and see the tragedy of book one finally solved, only to spawn yet another tragedy-mystery. Suspense, humor, investigations. But I have to say, I skipped the sex scenes. Why put them there? I might be a bit reluctant to buy # 3 in the series.

I think this series is getting better with each book. I am totally drawn in to the Lena & Sam saga now. At first, I didn't care for the narrator, but she is getting better with each book, also! I don't want to give anything away, but I love the idea of an underlying mystery throughout the series with a mini murder mystery in the forefront of each book. I also like each chapter beginning with a quote from the book currently being written by Camilla and Lena. I look forward to the next in the series.
