For Vlad Templeton, the sleepy little town where he spent his childhood provides the perfect place to conduct his state-funded sleep study. But when the local bank manager, who was participating in the study, is found dead on his doorstep, is it a setup or is Vlad somehow involved?

Lily Gayle, doesn't think so and sets out to prove it. But, when someone makes an attempt on Lily's and Dixie's life, the two realize they better move fast...or they might end up sleeping forever. This award-winning cozy mystery Death at the Midnight Dragonfly from Susan Boles is a new addition to the great southern cozy mystery tradition of Tonya Kappes, Miranda James, and Larissa Reinhart.

Enjoyable Small Town Mystery

This is the first book in the series I listened to and I don't think I missed much by starting with book 3. Tom is murdered at the Midnight Dragonfly, a large estate recently purchased by Vlad, a former resident of the town, now a doctor looking to do some medical studies. After an initial look at the evidence it looks like Lily's best friend's husband is guilty, but Lily knows he is innocent. She does some looking and with some help from Dixie, they stumble upon the real killer.

I thought this story was well written and an easy mystery to follow. The narrator did an excellent job with voices and pacing making this an all around enjoyable book.

Good Story & Narration

Chocolate gravy never heard of, as these Dixie girls getting ready for the annual Christmas party and the ingredients of the festive foods. Which they knew one was moonshine. They loved Elvis, and meeting together one morning at the cafe. when murder happens. Lily finds the bank manger is dead when she went to visit a friend. Lily and Dixie are targets or can they solve it first. Given ARC Audio which the narrator was good for my voluntary review and my honest opinion

Great

I don't often read or listen to cozy mysteries these days but I do once in a while.

I very much enjoyed this story. I thought it is well written and kept me reading/listening.

I like the narrator. I had no issues listening to this one because it was narrated at a good speed.
