Exhalent

I loved the book.
Cole is a great hero. He does not always make the correct decisions, and even though he beats himself up for this, he keeps going. There is a time he complains it is too hard, but he keeps going. So while he is not perfect, he is not disappointing.
something different happens to the power of each of the princesses, and what happens to Destiny’s power is completely appropriate. I do not want to give anything away. I will just say her power is rather wiled
This story is a little dark and creepy, but what else can be expected. Not only do they have to deal with dead people and people who can tell the future, but they have to go into the realm of the dead. So let’s put in a couple of bantering heroes to lighten things up.
You will also fine old friends as well as a couple you may not expect. Again no spoilers.

Not as good as the previous books.

Story seemed confusing to me and overall plot had no real point in taking the story forward. Mull is a good writer but some of the places, events and extra redundant quests just seemed like a lot of wasted pages. I will definitely get the last book but hoping for a grand finish like the Beyonders.

This is an amazing series!

This series is amazing. This is definitely better than the Harry Potter books and the only drawback is that the next book isn't coming out until 2017! This is a great read.

Brandon Mull is a Story Weaver

Riveted. Satisfying ending but still looking forward to the final installment! The array of Brandon Mull's clever ideas continues to impress this humanities major--absolutely loved the use of music and the obvious deep thought put into this kingdom. There were several similarities to some of the elements in Rick Riordan's second Percy Jackson series, such as the spectral yet lovable black horse, but even these elements were every bit appropriate and enjoyable. Also enjoyed the well done reading, smooth tone of voice and various characters, but I'm a little spoiled after those magnificent final Fablehaven volumes and my five star ratings are tough to garner. Thank you for this book, Brandon, we continue to relish your work.

The characters and the rich multilayered narrative

This is a brilliant evocative story that highlights the importance of friendship, loyalty and perseverance. The fantastical worlds created by Brandon Mull is incredibly creative. My 9 year ild son and i have enjoyed this story in equal measure and we cannot wait to start the fifth and last volume.
