Excellent fiction

I read this book many years ago and was thrilled to read it again. It is a fictional accounting of the physician, Luke, from the bible. It is VERY loosely based on the bible and the author has a wonderful imagination of how she pictures his story, but regardless of the biblical inaccuracies and bold fiction, it is historically a very interesting tale and held me captive for most of it. There are a few flowery parts where I did not focus, but it captured me almost immediately when they were over. I recommend it to anyone looking for an excellent read!

Excellent Listen

Beautiful story, beautifully told. I actually read this book years ago and loved it then, but listening to it brought it to life. References to biblical events were tastefully done. I truly enjoyed this book.

A story for all ages

I've read this book as a teen, a young adult, and now via audio as I transition to old age. It holds up well, with different insights emerging at each reading.

Marvelously uplifting

Caldwell’s account of the life of Luke, beloved writer of The Gospel of Luke and part of Acts of the Apostles is inspired and inspiring. It is so well done and believable that God must surely be pleased!

It followed the Bible I recognized many stories. I would recommend this book.

I liked it all. It was long but I enjoyed listening to it as I worked in my garden or drove my car.

Visions and imagery of historic proportions

Such a carefully written historical novel reflecting the exhaustive research of Taylor Caldwell . Second reading for me of the story of Luke. I am so glad it is in Audible now. Excellent narrator!

Pronunciation?

Unfortunately, the narrator, all through this book, pronounces "Messiah" as "messy-ass." This is beyond idiocy and intensely grating to my ears. One can only give thanks that he never has to announce "Cheeses Heights."
