NATIONAL BESTSELLER • From the author of the #1 New York Times bestseller Dear Martin comes the thrilling final installment of the series, set in college and offering a new perspective on privilege, love, and our political climate.

Jared Peter Christensen is running for president (of the Junior Class Council at his university, but still). His platform is solid—built on increased equity and inclusion in all sectors of campus life—and he’s got a good chance of beating the deeply conservative business major he’s running against.

But when a transfer student enters the race, she calls Jared out for his big-talk/little-action way of moving. Dylan’s accusations make him question just how “woke” he really is. But what’s the right way to bring about change? As the campaign heats up, feelings are caught, and juicy secrets come to light, and Jared writes letters to his deceased friend Manny, hoping to make sense of his confusion. What’s a white boy to do when love and politics collide? Will he have to choose between his head and his heart?

Curious to see if this one makes the Banned Books list. I remember being at a conference that Nic Stone spoke at and she shared her secret with us about writing this book. I have held on to that secret for over a year waiting on the book to release. I must say it was well worth the wait. Bravo!!!

Loved hearing from the perspective of Jared!

A quick read. On point with current events, I wasn't expecting that.
Glad to add to my trilogy, would definitely recommend it.

Nic does it again

No book has challenged me and held me at the seat of a chair as Dear Manny. Nic Stone is a national treasure and what she has accomplished in her trilogy is nothing short of excellent.

The Best Book of 2025

Nic did a great job guiding the readers through Jared’s journey. Jared grapples with who he used to be and who he is and who he wants to be. This whole book is great for any reader, but especially those who are white who are awake to the privilege that innately exist for us versus being an ally and speaking up when we see something is wrong. We like Jared aren’t going to understand or respond perfectly to every situation and yes we might have moments where we regress but the important point is to evaluate and keep moving in a positive direction to make safe spaces and be a safe person for others!

I loved this book!

Realistic knife’s edge

I loved the fact that I was brought into actually understanding (at least a little) the mind of Jered. This trilogy just confirmed the need for real, raw dialogue about life and relation. Shared experiences aren’t one-sided and we have to be able to realize that if we intend to grow and move appropriately. Thank you for giving both sides a voice. Beautifully done.
