Publisher's summary
Emmie Blue has a secret...
A long time ago, Emmie Blue released a red balloon with a secret message hidden inside - and against all odds, across hundreds of miles of ocean, it was found on a beach in France by a boy called Lucas.
Fourteen years later, on the eve of her thirtieth birthday, Emmie hopes that Lucas is finally about to kiss her. She never expected him to announce that he was marrying someone else!
Suddenly Emmie's dreams are shattered and the one person in her life she can rely on is slipping through her fingers. But what if Lucas isn't her forever? What if her love story is only just beginning...
Don't miss the love story that everyone is talking about this summer! Perfect for fans of Beth O'Leary, Josie Silver and Cecelia Ahern.

Charming romantic novel!
This is the best romantic novel I have listened to (or read) in a while. It has loveable characters, humour, an enticing story line and great character development.
It explores some deeply unsettling psychological issues expertly, whilst making you giggle. I really enjoyed this book. Looking forward to other offerings by Lia.
The narration was also excellent!

Fabulous
This is one of those books where you feel like the characters become your friends and can't wait to hear what happens for them. The characterisation of the narrator was brilliant.

An unexpected gem!
Bought in the sale, and I wasn't fully convinced that I would like it. But I loved everything about this story - except for the blasphemous swearing. :(

A perfectly lovely tale… *no spoilers*
Now and again I enjoy a good romance but, it has to have more than just that. I want an adventure, I want a bad guy/ girl or more. I want tragedy and most of all I want characters that I can relate to and root for. This book is the best one of it’s genre that I’ve listened to in quite a while. Emmie is our lovely protagonist and has quite a sad background, will she eventually end up with the boy she has always loved? No spoilers here.
It’s such a lovely, easy read. Definitely worth a credit of your money.
Will be getting more from this author in the future.
P.s it wouldn’t surprise me if they made it into a movie! 😀

So slow and self indulgent
Returned after 6 chapters, 90
mins. Was so self indulgent and depressing listening to this weak characters 6 chapters of love sick prattle. Even speed up the listening speed to try and get to any action.

Hilarious, fascinating, and a roller coaster of dizzying, historical what-ifs, Napoleon's Hemorrhoids is a potpourri for serious historians and casual history buffs. In one of Phil Mason's many revelations, you'll learn that Communist jets were two minutes away from opening fire on American planes during the Cuban missile crisis, when they had to turn back as they were running out of fuel. You'll discover that before the Battle of Waterloo, Napoleon's painful hemorrhoids prevented him from mounting his horse to survey the battlefield.
