I ❤️ Debra

I know Fred’s memoirs are not conducive to spinoffs. However, dear Author, (aka Drew Hayes) I hope and wish you will reconsider and tell Debra’s story. I was so touched by her thoughts on her life thus far, it left me craving more. For a dude you give us female readers characters that we can relate to and cheer for.

Such a great book in a great series

This is far and away Drew Hayes' best series. I have read several of his books and he can fall prey to shallow characters that end up playing for the laughs. That's where Fred excels past them all. It is incredibly well character driven. And even though they are all a bit bizarre, odd or possibly hard to believe, Hayes makes them all justified and realistic in their characterizations. He has also done a great job evolving the characters over the series and bringing new, unique, and fun storylines. Kudos to yet another wonderful story!

More we need more

up front I'll tell you I love this series
In this one Fred actually learns how to be a vampire instead of just being a human with digestive problems and a light allergy.
We also get to know more about vampires and the fae as the wedding gets closer.

It just gets better and better

I absolutely love the Fred series and Kirby Heyborne is the best fit as narrator. the fifth book in the series didn’t disappoint and has the usual hilarious moments and plot twists I’ve come to expect from Drew Hayes. The only problem is the long wait for the next book! #vampires,#shifters,#clever,#funny,#torturedhero,#tagsgiving,#sweepstakes

enjoyable but skipable

Easily the most low-key book in the series. It is a mundane affair skippable on re-reads if the series goes long but not unenjoyable.

Skip. This. Book.

Let me be concise: Skip this book and hope the next one is better.

This book isn’t a Fred book, instead it is just another typical offbeat vampire book. Not just a typical book, but a typical first in the series! Instead of a series of unrelated short stories, we get short stories all loosely connected to some ancient vampire that is judging and testing Fred’s fitness as a leader and a vampire, all while teaching him how to be a proper vampire badass along the way. Hey, know what makes Fred great? That he isn’t a typical vampire and knows it. He isn’t powerful but his friends are, so why mess with this?

Furthermore, this was clearly a rush job of a book because at least 10% of the book is repetition of roughly the same lines. Not like formulaic plot, but actual constant repeating of the same long-winded descriptions and thoughts. WE GOT IT THE FIRST FIVE TIMES!

Do yourself a favor and forget this book exists and join me in hoping the next one returns to the old formula. I do not recommend this book.

No where

Ok I LOVE Drew but this book was a major let down compare to the others . The book did not move the story forward but any real measure and extreme slow pace and really only 2 characters in this story . Will be deleting this book and try to forget it and hope nobody ever talks about it !!!

I’m looking forward to seeing where the series continues to go. Drew Hayes has created a very interesting universe.
