I was hooked from the start
I could not stop listening to this book. It kept me on the edge of my seat. Each time I had to pause I could not wait to get back to it. The narrator did an amazing job differentiating the various characters. I felt like I was watching a movie, not listening to an audio book.

Absolutely Gripping!
Where does Deadline rank among all the audiobooks you’ve listened to so far?
I'd have to say in the top five for sure and I have listened to a lot of really good books!
Who was your favorite character and why?
It's hard to pick just one but I guess I will say Dawson. He has a lot of hidden qualities to him that keeps you wondering.
Which character – as performed by Stephen Lang – was your favorite?
Mr. Lang did a really good job with Bernie.
Did you have an extreme reaction to this book? Did it make you laugh or cry?
I was surprised by it a couple times but no laughing or crying.
Any additional comments?
This is a great story from beginning to end. Is is gripping and suspenseful. It has a lovely romance that builds slowly throughout. The plot has the listener on the edge of their seat to the last second. Sandra Brown did herself proud with this book!

Great twists, gripping story
Typical Sandra Brown, story grabs you and won’t let go till you are surprised by twist after twist ...the resolution makes you feel complete... Stephen Lang does a great job bring all of these characters to life.

So glad I ignored the bad reviews!!
I really don’t understand the bad reviews. This is one of Sandra Brown’s best!! The storyline was original and fascinating, the suspense riveting, and the twist at the end!! Oh my!!
Also , some of the reviews mention “numerous sex scenes”. There were only two, for heaven’s sake,
toward the end of the book!! Only some steamy kisses before that, but that’s not sex.
All in all, one of my favorite SB books, and I was sorry when it was over!!
Postscript: I just listened to “Deadline” again and I enjoyed it every bit as much!! Why do I listen again? Because I can’t find anything of this caliber!! Most of what’s out there seems to be of the hookup and one night stand variety. Please, spare me. Sandra Brown, Nora Roberts, Julie Garwood, Lisa Kleypas, Mary Balogh, and Jane Castle are all very high on my go-to list; they just can’t seem to write the books fast enough!!
