From the twisted mind of Seanan McGuire comes Deadlands: Boneyard - the newest audiobook based on the hit Weird West RPG franchise Deadlands!

Step right up to see the oddities and marvels of The Blackstone Family Circus and Travelling Wonder Show! Gasp at pit wasps the size of a man's forearm. Beware the pumpkin-headed corn stalker, lest it plant its roots in you!

Annie Pearl is the keeper of oddities, the mistress of monsters. Her unique collection of creatures is one of the circus' star attractions, drawing wide-eyed crowds at every small frontier town they visit. But Annie is also a woman running from her past...and the mother of a mute young daughter, Adeline, whom she will do anything to protect.

Hoping to fill its coffers before winter sets in, the circus steers its wagons to The Clearing, a remote community deep in the Oregon wilderness, surrounded by an ominous dark wood. Word is that a travelling show can turn a tidy profit at The Clearing, but there are whispers, too, of unexplained disappearances that afflict one out of every four shows that pass through the town.

The Clearing has it secrets, and so does Annie. And it may take everything she has to save her daughter - and the circus - from both.

Deadlands: Boneyard is a gripping audiobook of the Weird West, set in the haunted frontier of Deadlands, the award-winning game from Pinnacle Entertainment Group.

The story starts slow, but has a good ending. It didn't feel very Deadlands for about half the book, weird west yes just not Deadlands. The story doesn't suffer for that however.

Slow start to an interesting yarn

EXCELLENT! This just goes to show that whatever Seanan writes, she kills. (no pun intended) I'm not usually so quick to pick up westerns of any ilk, but I knew this book would not disappoint.

Please keep signing Seanan so we can keep buying her work!

new universe, no disappointments!

A great story with wonderful description and superb narration. Don't know much about deadlands but didn't need much knowledge to enjoy this tale.

Hooked from the beginning

the book was pretty true to Deadlands, I like the horror aspects and the twists in the story.

not bad Deadlands story

I've read all her series as McGuire and Grant. This plot would make another great one! She always has a unique twist that separates her from the pack and this is no exception. Great western steampunk horror story as a standalone and as a possible series? Well read. Don't forget the social satire and truly scary "monsters!"

Defiantly captured the feel of Deadlands and has inspired a whole campaign for my group.

Top of the line narration with an excellent storyline made for one of my best audible book purchases

Great fantasy thriller

There is a good novella in here. The problem is that this is not a novella, it is a novel. A very bloated, overly dramatic novel. You will be enthralled by the beginning. Seanan McGuire knows how to use words to create drama. The problem is she doesn't know when to stops. Speeches go on for chapters without ever getting to the point. Every event, event event when nothing happens, are treated like the climax. You will be reminded that the main character is a mother so many times that the concept of motherhood will be burned out of your brain from overuse. After reading this book I think mothers are some kind of math equation, I really have no idea any more.

Honestly, I think the editor is to blame on this one. It reads like a very good first draft that hasn't had a single unneeded word removed. Seanan is a good author who wasn't told "no" enough and has produced a well written, yet very boring book.

Very slow and overly dramatic

I loved the ending but it couldn't make up for the slow build and stumbling progression. if this has been the first in the series i would have never tried the second. I recomend the Ghost Walker book and skipping the Boneyard.

great performance but very disappointing sequel

gave it 4 hours. took four hours to get some action.

and then all she did was make statements instead of doing

maybe there is fun play, but never got to it in four hours. so much for a supernatural western.

boring.
