Publisher's summary

Summers in the seaside town of Noquit Maine are quiet and relaxing...unless you find a mysterious dead body, a hunky ex-boyfriend shows up, and you start getting instructions from ghostly relatives.

That's exactly what happens to Morgan Blackmoore.

Suddenly, she finds herself in a race against time as she's launched into a dangerous treasure hunt that pits her against modern-day pirates who think she has the key to a 300-year-old secret.

To complicate matters even more, one of her sisters keeps talking to the ghost of their dead grandmother, another has crystals with unusually powerful healing properties and her cat has an uncanny habit of showing up in exactly the right place at exactly the right time.

Not to mention that her ex-boyfried, Luke Hunter, suddenly shows up in town after 10 years of being overseas and claims to want to help her fight off these deadly pirates, but Morgan finds herself fighting her attraction to him instead.

Will Morgan outwit the treasure hunters and find the real killer before Sheriff Overton puts her in jail?

And what about Luke, is he really a good guy or just after the treasure himself?

loved it

This was an awesome mystery, even better than the first. I love seeing how the Blackmoore sisters interact and handle their challenges. I can't wait for the next one.

Another magical thrill ride. Never a dull moment.

Another fantastic read. I love the sisters and their furry sidekick belladonna. These stories are thrilling yet cozy.
They deliver the excitement of danger and suspense and a slight injection of the supernatural all while you're wrapped in a fuzzy blanket sipping tea.
Perfection.
The narrator delivers with perfect execution. Bravo.

A good cozy series

This series is quick to read and enjoyable. There is just not as much to it as some of the others I read, including the author's Mystic Notch series. A good read nonetheless.

Trouble keeps following the sisters

This is the second in this series i have read. I love these books. They are funny, cute and very entertaining. The narrator is great. Morgan and her sisters find themselves again mixed up in a murder. The Sheriff, Overton, again is trying to put the blame on one them. If that is not bad, they have pirates trying to find treasure that is theirs and will do anything to get it. Even murder. Ask the dead guy they found in their yard. Then to make matters worst, Morgan's old love comes back, who had left her for the military. Now he works for a company that tracks down pirates and stops them. Will Morgan and Luke rekindle their romance? Come join the sisters as the discover their talents, look for murderer, dodge the sheriff and look for treasure.

How Well Do You Know Your Ancestors?

Where does Dead and Buried rank among all the audiobooks you’ve listened to so far?

I liked it a lot, but I have listened to many really wonderful audiobooks.
The competition is strong.

What did you like best about this story?

I liked how the sisters got along well but each has her own talents and strengths.

I also want to know more about the cat's history.

What about Hollis McCarthy’s performance did you like?

She was easy to listen to.
I think a few of the male voices needed more differentiation,
Sometimes it was a little difficult to identify who was speaking.

If you were to make a film of this book, what would the tag line be?

Watch your back.

Any additional comments?

I am not sure how safe I would feel with a boyfriend who used me as a decoy or bait.
Thank goddess for sisters.

Adventure within these pages

Omg modern day pirates and treasure to be found. Except Morgan is accused of murder again. The sisters are going to prove she's innocent. The ex boyfriend Luke is back and Morgan doesn't know how to feel. 10 years is a long time to forgive and forget. This book was amazing all the way to the end. I loved the excitement and adventure. It was great. I love all the characters. Belladonna is my all time favorite.

this might be a spoiler. "Ending disappointing"

the author writes 23 chapters to gear you up to a two paragraph ending. it stops your experience too abuptly. Also the narration was less then enthusiastic. the different voices and accents that the narrator used sounded very fake.
