Magic is dead. That’s what the government would have you believe. I know the truth. So does the government. Which is why they’ve hired me along with several others to hunt down the remnants of magic.

It’s not an easy job, but it’s a job I can’t live without.

And yet here I stood. The cold dead body of my government contact filling my apartment with the all too familiar scent of death. I studied her face as I crouched over. She’d been dead at least a week if my guess was any good. I’d be damned if one dead broad would ruin my only chance to find him.
