I’ve tried other audio versions of De Profundis and this is by far the best. I’m glad to finally have a version I can listen to over and over. The introduction by Merlin Holland, Wilde’s grandson, is a treat.

So much sorrow and self pity. Beautifully written. I was deeply engaged by Wilde’s extended comments about Christ. What a treasure!

Really enjoyed reading and seeing a more serious side to Wilde. It was beautififul. I am surprised he still wanted to see Alfred Douglas in the end. Guess he wanted to be reconciled despite how damaging their friendship was.
