Another Great Addition to a Fantastic Series

Tchaikovsky has done it again. With his usual insight and cutting wit, this book grants a glimpse into characters familiar and unfamiliar. As always, they’re all heading into a powder keg of their own making. As beautiful, poignant, violent and heartrending as the previous two novels, this book is not to be missed.

Witty, funny, and riveting

Adrian Tchaikovsky is a master of his craft and this is another feather in his cap, and a perfect continuation of series!

Epic world building & grand adventure

First rate narration and compelling cast of characters. Drawing on his expansive grasp of history he creates and empire out of time that feels very of-the-moment. Give this one a go. You may find yourself reflected it in, or not. No matter what, you will be entertained. Looking forward to the next installment.

I love these characters so much

I think this is Tchaikovsky's best work so far, it flowed so narratively well that the dense text was easily listenable.

Like I was in a chokehold

I actually resent Adrian a good bit for how damnably skilled he is at hooking me like a carp to then finish these books in less than a few days. This was yet ANOTHER fantastic installment in a series I have an inexplicably hard time explaining to friends and family, often coming out as "political drama involving invading nations and quirky quasi-victims of small absurd gods".

I love this series

There are no duds in this series. I’m continually fascinated by this exploration of empire and power.
