Publisher's summary

Louise Penny says the Frieda Klein novels are "fabulous."

Joseph Finder says they're "in the rich vein of Kate Atkinson."

And Tami Hoag calls them "truly unique."

Now the final book in this extraordinary series is here. And it's an ending you'll never forget.

A decade ago, psychologist Frieda Klein was sucked into the orbit of Dean Reeve - a killer able to impersonate almost anyone, a man who can disappear without a trace, a psychopath obsessed with Frieda herself.

In the years since, Frieda has worked with - and sometimes against - the London police in solving their most baffling cases. But now she's in hiding, driven to isolation by Reeve. When a series of murders announces his return, Frieda must emerge from the shadows to confront her nemesis. And it's a showdown she might not survive.

Criminology student Lola Hayes has tracked Frieda down with a single-minded pursuit: she wants to delve inside the mind of a woman besieged by darkness. But in following every move Frieda makes, Lola is exposing herself to the same terrors - and the same twisted fixation of a diabolical psychopath.

This gripping cat-and-mouse thriller pits one of the most fascinating characters in contemporary fiction against an enemy like none other. Smart, sophisticated, and spellbinding, it's an audiobook that will leave you breathless.

Every fan must see how the Dean Reeves - Frieda Klein Saga Ends

I think i was mostly waiting for this book to get back into the Frieda Klein World created by this reader. But of course I had to find out how the Dean Reeves saga ended. This plot involves Frieda’s obsession with the hidden rivers of London. Dean, of course, knows all about it. Seemed a bit strained. The is a new character, a student who I’d doing a dissertation on Frieda. Too many pages are devoted to her flighty personality. Nonetheless, I enjoyed the book immensely

Masterful

This story brought the past 7 books to an end with masterful recollection, the tremendous all encompassing storyline was necessary for this tome to be exceedingly successful. Thanks to the authors. Bravo! I might enjoy more Freita Cline now that this breathtaking saga is complete. She is a friend.

Not Enough Stars—A Great Book!!! ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

I loved this book! Wonderful story and fantastic narration. A most beautiful and satisfying conclusion to the series, although I don’t want it to end...could there be more???

Wonderful series

I wish there were more days in the week, because then the series would have lasted longer! I will miss Frieda Klein and the cast of characters created in this series. At times Frieda’s decisions and actions drove me crazy but it was her quirky personality that was the glue throughout all the books. Thank you to the authors for sharing this story with us. I won’t spoil the ending in this review, just to say I can live with it!!!

Excellent book

I like the way it ended--but I will miss these characters, since this is the last book in the series. I've read them all, and enjoyed almost every one. Was very happy to get the last two during the recent audible sale. Start with the first, and you'll enter a compelling series. Perfect narrator, well written.

Is the series over?

All the reviews say the series is finished. I hope that isn’t so yet the whole series has been building up to the final confrontation between Freida and Dean.
I think Freida has more stories to tell but I guess that is up to the authors. If so thank you for a great series! #BackFromTheDead, #Stalker, #Dark, #tagsgiving, #sweepstakes

A Satisfying Ending to a Favorite Series!

I have to say, I was nervous about this book, the last in the series, because I wasn't sure I wanted it to end, or was wary how it would end. I won't summarize the plot, because it is difficult without revealing anything that would spoil the story, and I want other readers to experience the same rapt tension I did. A gripping thriller and a satisfying ending to a series I have enjoyed. I'm already looking forward to see what Nicci French comes up with next!
