Story
As if he doesn't have enough to handle between running outlaws out of Cheyenne, keeping his brothers out of trouble, and avenging his father's death, Sheriff Sawyer McCade's meddling mother just dumped a mysterious mail-order bride on his doorstep. One woman can be more trouble than a band of renegades, and while this one has him all stirred up, he'd rather get to the bottom of the story she isn't telling. Rose Parker had it all - until a web of danger and deceit sends her running to Cheyenne posing as a mail-order bride. Escaping the evils of New York seems sensible until she meets the unsuspecting sheriff who didn't ask for her, has no intention of marrying her, and won't rest until he uncovers her secret and sends her back home.

Donna Fetcher's The Highlander's Forbidden Bride is the thrilling conclusion of this exceptional storyteller's series featuring the rugged, proud, and sexy Scotsmen, the Sinclare brothers. Evocatively set in the Highlands of Scotland, this powerful and stirring tale of vengeance turned to lust and hatred undone by passion is yet another breathtaking example of what best seller Patricia Potter calls Fletcher's "pure magic."

Love the McCade brothers!
Set in the early times of the Western Frontier, when the American Indians and the settlers fought for their place, this series about the McCade brothers captures your interest and holds on to you. This is Dawson’s story...Dawson is quiet, stoic and very protective of those he loves. As a translator for the Cheyenne ppl to the soldiers, Dawson finds himself straddling two worlds. When he saves Haven from a pack of ‘Dog Soldiers’, Dawson’s loyalty is tested. Haven’s determined drive to care for and protect her younger brothers calls to Dawson and his inner animal spirit. We think that this couple is heading for their HEA...then Dawson is arrested for murder! Now it’s up to Haven and the rest of the McCade clan to save Dawson from the firing squad. Great story with fantastic characters and narration that takes you back to that time in history. I accepted a complimentary copy of this book in exchange for an honest review.

Integrity, honor and love win again!
I throughly enjoy listening to Kim Turner's series on the McCade family. Each character is unique while having the most important things in common: integrity, strength, honor, hard working, caring, family, humor, passion, and love. Kim Turner introduces us to strong male and female characters that we both come to love and respect as as we journey back in time and experience the changing culture and life on the western frontier. She's not afraid to to show the character's strengths, weaknesses, imperfections, differing viewpoints, challenges, deepest thoughts, sorted pasts, and both the blessings and struggles that a growing family face. As the author explains details of Dawson McCade's Cheyenne clothing and Haven Oakley's lavender scented hair, I can imagine them vividly and feel their every emotion, especially their hopes, joys, pains and fears as their lives and future hang in the balance. I'm looking forward to more books in the series.

I love visiting the McCades!
Oh these McCade men! Each one is so different, yet have that quality that makes you just fall in love with him. The strong, protective, silent type, I found him extremely nurturing. Haven is a wonderful character, strong and determined, she is raising her brothers and trying to make ends meet. Dawson saves Haven from the Dog Soldiers, and soon knows that she is the woman of his dreams. But life is never easy, and circumstances occur that result in the arrest of Dawson. Will Haven be able to prove his innocence? I love Kim Turner's style of writing. She brings to life a period of time that I enjoy visiting and she gives a clear visual image of her story. From the meeting of Haven, to repairing a roof to being shot by an arrow, I could see it all happening. Add in getting to visit with Wyatt, Sawyer and my favorite, Dodge, this story is one that makes me smile! It's like coming home to family and I can't wait til the next visit with the McCades. Dawson McBride is just awesome. I cannot say enough good things about his narrations. Each one is perfectly cast to his voice and he brings out all the qualities of his characters. I love his historical narrations!

I totally love this series.
I read the first book of this series rather by accident. It was the first time I had read a Kim Turner western. I fell in love with the characters right from the beginning. The narrator Dawson Mcbride could read a phone book and make it sound good. This is the third book in the series and I truly hope it's not the last. Very well written. You will laugh, cry, hold your breath in anticipation and enjoy every moment of this book.

A really great listen!
Kim Turner writes about life on the western frontier with romance, lots of romance and real life struggles, mystery, suspense and villains along the way. Her writing envelops you in an emotional journey, one you feel even after you’ve read the last page. The saga continues with Dawson’s Haven. A wonderful book with delightful characters and surprising twists and turns. I fell in love with the characters and enjoyed the story of the land and its people. I have loved all the books in The McCades of Cheyenne Series and look forward to the next one. Dawson McBride has the perfect voice to narrate this book. He's one of my favorite narrators and he does an excellent job with this one. Highly recommended.

Her best story yet!!
I enjoyed this book sooo much! I’m a big fan of Kim Turner books already, but with each one I believe her stories get better and better! I do a lot of smiling when reading one of Ms. Turner’s books and enjoy just the right amount of adult lovemaking to keep the progress of the romance moving forward. But for the first time I cried big ol’ tears with the accompanying runny nose to go with it! Dawson’s Haven is Kim Turner’s best book yet and I absolutely recommend others to buy it!
