David

King David. A man after God’s own heart. A man of complexity, David has been portrayed countless times in portraits, sculpture, and literature throughout history. At times, he has been glorified as a hero and others, vilified for the mistakes that he made. From the hills of Bethlehem to the throne in Jerusalem, David is an epic tale that chronicles the rise in power of the shepherd who became Israel’s most famous king, seeking to tell his story as it might have been.

This adaptation of the well-known Bible story showcases David’s journey after slaying the giant, Goliath, and bringing victory to Israel in God’s name. Often running from the hand of the king who became his father-in-law, Saul, as a fugitive, and speaking the most beautiful of prayers through despair and weeping at times and praise and thanksgiving in others, David proves strength in turning to the Lord and allowing Him to be his strength.

Far from perfect, a proven adulterer, murderer, a man of many wives, and a man of war, David speaks to the heart of the king, his relationship with his best friend, Jonathan, and his tumultuous relationships with his own children and wives. Through many triumphs and failures both politically and personally, witness one of the greatest historical sagas ever played out through the eyes of David.

No imagination

The only reason I gave it a two star is that it’s about David, but the narration was terrible. The story itself was even worse; they took 1 samuel and told it without doing much to develope character,while adding some detail at the most random times. For instance, they gave some detail about david’s love to michael, which in this story is the hight of imagery, but just glazed over the greatest miracle between moses and elijah, the fight with goliath.
Actually I take it back, this is an insult to the greatest earthly king in history and deserves nothing more than one star
