Publisher's summary

A widow on a private island has the distinct sense she's being watched—and as evil closes in, she teams up with a former special ops soldier in this paranormal romance.

WHEN NIGHT FALLS

After her husband's tragic death, Leigh Kelly arrives on Whidbey Island determined to start over. Yet the tiny town of Chimney Rock is not as peaceful as it seems. Women have been disappearing, and Leigh can't shake the feeling that she's being watched . . . especially at night. Soon, she's experiencing visions she can't explain and fighting her attraction to a handsome stranger who seems to know her most intimate desires.

PASSION TRANSFORMS THEM

As the leader of the Team, a pack of werehounds forced to hide their very existence, former special ops soldier Niles Latimer is desperate to prove a man's heart beats beneath his predator's body. And Leigh—the mysterious beauty possessing powers she doesn't yet understand—may be the one woman who can help him. But Niles isn't the only one who recognizes Leigh's true identity. Something evil is waiting in the woods—and the hunt has begun . . .

Not a Bad Book, Enjoyable.

Whenever I see someone who gives a book a bad review without going into detail as to why its so bad, makes me want to read/listen to the book to find out why. Plot? Yes there is a clear concise one. Slow build up? Yes. Satisfying ending? Yes. Future story possibilities? Definitely. Likeable characters? Yes.

There were a couple of possibilities in the book that needed further development, ie...the brother in law, but I think that will be taken care of in future books. The vampire Collins, yup, another loose end that will probably be resolved in a future story. The Fae queen etc....yeah future stories.

The only problem with the book was in my opinion the Narrator. She did not have a great range of male voices, in fact they all sounded alike. However, due to the authors writing it was easy to determine who was speaking.

If you want a good story, a different take on Werewolves etc....get this one. It isn't bad, and an easy read/listen, with a good story.

Could Not Get Into It

I am not a fantasy book listener, but have listened to others vampire, werewolf books before and have enjoyed them, but just could not get this. I went to the end to see what happened to see if I could be enticed to go back and listen, but could not. Maybe is was the narrator, but not--Suehyla El-Attar was the reason I picked this one because I have enjoyed her on another.

I will still try other Stella Cameron books though.

Just read the book, don't try to listen to it.

The story may be ok but the narrator ruined it for me. I got past the first 2 hours and just could not take it anymore.
