Story
Just any warlock. Oh no, I'm a warlock for hire. Need magical assistance? I'm your guy. Whatever you need: spells, cures, or potions - I can provide. For a price. My life gets a tad more difficult when one particular customer comes knocking. Enter Ashley Sheridan. She's sexy, mysterious, and in a whole lot of trouble. I should have turned her away, but I just can't resist a good mystery. So I poked my nose where it doesn't belong and landed myself in trouble with a malignant seer. I have to do as he says or people are going to die. I'm not really known for cooperation, so I'll just have to find a way to kill him, before he kills the people I care about.

Story
Dustin Graves has three days to live. The darkling mage has found himself in the company of scoundrels. Maybe that’s what Dustin deserves: a werewolf, a vampire, and a talking sword for teammates, and a rogue sorcerer as his mentor and master. But a doomsday cult has surfaced. Twelve mutilated bodies are found drowned in blood and in wine. The massacre stinks of both the divine and the supernatural. Worst of all, an ancient god sends Dust on a lethal mission, one he must complete in three days. The reward? He gets to live. Well...maybe.

I thought that learning magic from a druid master was tough, but that was before I started taking lessons from an insane quasi-god. For six long months, I’ve been suffering under Click’s tutelage, boning up on my magic skills so I can survive the wrath of several Celtic gods and find a cure for my druid mentor, Finnegas. It’s my fault that the old man is hanging on by a thread, and I’m determined to save his life.

The dust had barely settled after my skirmish at Galloway Asylum, and there I was looking forward to some downtime, maybe even a promotion. What I got instead was a covert assignment and an urgent warning from on high: Get out of the city. So I did. And after a quick, or should I say bad, trip down the wrong side of memory lane, I found myself holing up in a sleepy rural town on a strictly cloak and dagger mission: Copperwood Falls, a haunted town where the woods whisper at night, and demons come calling. A place where the shadows are restless, and almost nothing is as it seems.

Publisher's Summary
Six hundred thirty-seven. That’s the number of children who have been taken in the last 30 years. All taken by one person. He never leaves any evidence. He never leaves witnesses. He leaves only a name: Mr. Panomie. And Panomie is far from human.
Eddie is hired to solve the case and bring about an end to Panomie's machinations. He delves into a world in which magical creatures are in charge. But Eddie has problems of his own.
Rachel is in prison, but her curse is fighting to take control of Eddie's mind. And it's getting stronger. Each time Eddie gives in to the dark urges, the curse gains more ground, and he becomes more monstrous.
With the darkness inside him rapidly growing, he has to figure out a way to cure himself before he becomes worse than Rachel ever was. But it's getting harder to tell the difference between what's him and what's the darkness.

The Iron Didn't Work
Another great story in the Eddie saga. As the series progresses, they become less stand alone and as Eddie will tell you, buy the previous books. Much more fantasy characters then in the previous books so this is a bit of a change of pace. Although as I have said with the first two books, while the story is great, I love the characters more.
Out of the three books I have listened to in the series this ranks as my least favorite. I don’t think this story was bad, I just really liked book two and who doesn’t like an origin story. I really liked the darkness, pun intended, of book two. This story went deeper into the fantasy realm which was a fun ride that made this series stand out that much more from others in the genre. That part of it provided a lot more twists then I was expecting, and it definitely kept me wondering what was going to happen next and forced me to stay glued to my headphones.
While I am not a huge fantasy story person, I really liked how this was told. I didn't think this progressed the underlying story line as much, but was a fun story nonetheless. The wizardry feel seemed to disappear a bit as the fantasy world of fighting evil gnomes in the fairy world took over. I really enjoy the world and magic that Stone has created and the intricacies of the magic is very Harry Potteresque, a reference Eddie likes to bring up. There were a lot of parts of this story that just had me cracking up. The part where Eddie tries to convince a family that their daughter was in danger was hilarious and depicted perfectly Eddie's immaturity and rash behavior.
I liked how all the characters are continuing to mature and how they are coming together. The plot is fun, but it really is the characters back and forth, the emotions you feel while listening to them, Eddie’s forth wall breaking, and his sarcasm that really sells this series. Super happy that Eddie and Ashley are talking again and am also looking forward to more interactions with newly promoted, Detective Chief Inspector Richards. I'm really hoping Rachel comes back because I can't wait to see the darkness really emerge. Although in the end, I think Doris and Gavin might be my absolute favorite.
As he does with all of his narration, Hannibal Hills continues to bring this series to life. At this point Hannibal is Eddie and I wouldn’t have it any other way. His character voices are perfect and I suggest you just sit back, close your eyes, and let him take you off into Sean Stone’s Realm.

Was Unsure
Let me begin by saying that I was given this book free in exchange for my unbiased opinion. So when I realized this book was volume 3 of a series I was unsure exactly what I should do. I wondered if I should try and read the first two books before reading this one because I was afraid it was a continuous storyline that I might be missing pieces. That was far from the case even though I am sure the other two books have story that lead up to this it was not something I felt I could not read without having read the other two. I enjoyed the characters I enjoy the interaction and the tension and the fairy tale element LOL but I just truly enjoyed the book. The narrator did a nice job of keeping me engaged and I blew through this book before I knew it was even done! LOL I am glad I read it and I will read the other two now.

Another great tale
I was given this book at my request for free but the review is of my own. Eddie is back to deal with Rachael’s curse, a creature taking children, and a new company that wants his talents. Children are being taken without a trace and Eddie gets called to deal with the case finding that there’s a long history. He is fighting the darkness Rachael gave him and trying to win back the girl he cares for. Will Eddie find the creature before more children go missing? Can he ever get rid of the darkness? Another amazing tale.

Such a great series!!!
I was given this free review copy audio book at my request and have voluntarily left this review.
Ugh, I really wish these books would come out faster! I say that because I have enjoyed them so darn much and they just aren't long enough. Don't get me wrong, each book has been longer, but they're so good I binge listen and they are over in a few short hours and I'm left waiting half a year or more for the next book. I really enjoy how this author makes each book its own. This means you can enjoy them even if you start at a later book. That being said, though, you definitely get so much more if you listen to the previous books first. Great narration, great writing, this is an all around great series I highly recommend!

Once again Sean Stone has managed to get Eddy into all kinds of trouble and we get to enjoy watching him get out of it. Love Love Love it!!!!!!!
This is fantastic Urban Fantasy series. This time Eddie teams up again with Ashley to help the police with missing children. Someone is taking children. The only clue is a name. Panomie. But who is Panomie? Over 600 children have been taken over a span of years. This case will lead Eddie an Ashley to the Fae realm chasing Gnomes and Imps. This book kept me very entertained. It is action packed. I just love Eddie. He is bit rough around the edges but he gets the job done. The narrator of this book is fantastic. He does a great job with each voice for each character. I recommend this series if you love The Dresden books. I was gifted this book at my request in exchange for an honest review.

Not your Traditional Warlock story 3
So book 3 came out of the gate strong and had some real game.
Then it threw some twists and an emotional body shot or two.
The story only gets better and in my opinion felt the whole way through that you were going to get a cliffhanger and yet it wraps up very nicely.
Please let there be a book 4 I need the dry wit and foul mouth of Eddie Lancaster as voiced unbelievably well by Hannibal Hills. This book is worth your time and a credit to read/listen to.

Snarky warlock returns
Eddie Lancaster is not intended to be the most likeable of main characters, but he is an interesting one and more well-rounded than he was in the first book in the series (I haven't yet read the second one), less reliant on the fourth wall breaking that featured so heavily in the first one.
The narrator does a good job of enhancing this book, giving suitably distinctive tones to the main character and supporting cast to help bring them to life that much more.
Overall, the story is an entertaining one in it's own right and challenging for the hero, but there is also a fair amount of world-building that both fleshes out the overall world while also setting things up for subsequent books in the series too.

Thoroughly enjoying the Eddie Lancaster books. An exciting addition to the urban fancy genre. Particularly enjoying the whole Neil Gaiman sounding twang to Hannibal Hills voice
Arcane Inc. books are just such fun to read.

Must listen
The performances of the voice actor bought the story to life. The characters in the story were original and made a great change from alot of the heroes in many of the urban fantasy novels. The storyline kept me hooked and looking forward to the next book

Meet Eddie Lancaster, Warlock
The writing style is a little arrogant, very irreverent with a soupçon of good humour to match our central character, Maidstone's Eddie Lancaster. The chap is still learning his craft of being a Warlock and we are taken on wild journeys into his and other worlds to meet, kill or fall in love with other characters, only a few of which are human. Eddie is a great guide, aided by a wonderful narrator, in this strange but very entertaining murder mystery and adventure.
