Basic Psychology Used Unethicly

This is a "How To Do It" book. The author describes how to use basic psychological techniques for selfish and unethical reasons. It is fairly detailed in how to execute basic psychology in selfish and unethical ways. I disagree with the author that these unethical methods will give anyone who reads this book the power to manipulate and control people. Virtually everything he explains would require years of learning and practice. There is so much material covered in the book that it becomes impractical for an individual to accomplish selfish and unethical use of psychology. That is not to say that some of the methods could not be learned and implemented but to master it as an art, well, I just don't think so.

A good many of the methods described are easily visible in society and in no way may be utilized covertly or discreetly. These methods all exist in bad and abusive relationships and the extent to which they might be used on friends, co-workers, or the general population is suspect at best. People in relationships, and cults put up with these overt methods that is a fact, but friends, co-workers, or the general public? I seriously doubt it would be tolerated.

It was an interesting read and several times you get the sense that the author is being somewhat sarcastic. "To do dark psychology you have to convince yourself that it is not wrong, bad, or evil to ruin people's lives so that you may live with the depravity to which you have sunk." Actually that was more of a paraphrase than a quote but it delivers the gist of the delivery. The book has a smooth, easy flow to it especially as read by the Audible narrator. The narrator was excellent and it was well worth the price to add the Audible narration to the book.

Narrator Needs to go

I really wanted to like this book and I really wanted to be interested in it, but the damn narrator was incredibly distracting. The whistling sounds he does on every S sound is way too overbearing. I was trying to pay attention to the information in the book, but soon thought I was listening to a shitty version of Whistle While You Work by one of the seven dwarfs having a stroke. Seriously, get rid of the narrator.

Don't bother.

Basic and not very informative. No real eye opening techniques. Don't bother. Not worth the credit I paid.
