Publisher's summary

Young Savannah Dubrinsky was a mistress of illusion, a world-famous magician capable of mesmerizing millions. But there was one - Gregori, the Dark One - who held her in terrifying thrall. Whose cold silver eyes and heated sensuality sent shivers of danger, of desire, down her slender spine.

With a dark magic all his own, Gregori - the implacable hunter, the legendary healer, the most powerful of Carpathian males - whispered in Savannah's mind that he was her destiny. That she had been born to save his immortal soul. And now, here in New Orleans, the hour had finally come to claim her. To make her completely his. In a ritual as old as time...and as inescapable as eternity.

Gregori is hot!

I love this book. It does have some dark elements but it's still entertaining. The characters were interesting and likable. Savannah was young, especially when compared to Gregori. Gregori is very set in his ways and figures that Savannah will conform to his ways because he is older and knows best. Gregori is wrong about that. Savannah teaches Gregori a few things that he wasn't prepared to learn but definitely needed to. I loved how the story ended. I recommend reading this book. Or listening to it! The Narrator does a good job with the audiobook.

Bright beginnings

Hard to listen to.
The reader showed no emotions no feelings. The story was ok, it fell flat in areas.
I liked reading the book better.

No I am sure it could be if you had hours on your hands. I however did not listen to it all in one go.

Gregori is my favorite character EVER!

Oh how I ached to read this book. I have this thing about reading books in order and after the third book Dark Gold I almost gave up on this series. However when Gregori showed up I was ready. I knew I had to power through to get to this book. I am so glad that I did.

Gregori is one of those characters that is feared and an outcast. The fact that he is the greatest healer of all his people and also the scariest person either says a lot about him. When we first meet Gregori back in Dark Prince I knew that he would be my favorite character. There is something about him that is just compelling. He does not make excuses for being his self and that is something I love about a character.

Savannah is someone who is young and she does act her age for a bit in the book but she also accepts that fact. There are times in books when the heroine is just God awful but the author tries to make the readers accept that fact. I am glad Christine Feehan does not do that with Savannah. Savannah understands that she has real fears and understands that she needs to comprise with Gregori unlike Alex with Aiden.

The book was wonderful aside from their first time. You are going to have to read the book in order to find that out. Other than that I feel for Gregori he really truly believes that he is not lovable and that he is a monster. I am so glad Savannah teaches him that he is more than what he thinks he is and is an amazing man.

Great book......except the narrator needs help

Dark Magic is a wonderful story, rich with the imagination you'ld expect from Ms. Feehan . The narrator however needs help. Mr.Chrisden has a pleasant voice but needs help with pronunciation. The main character's name is pronounced Gregg-gor-ry not Greggery. Also Savahana is not a "valley girl" and it is doubtful that she would whine the way Mr. Chrisden read so much of her dialogue.

A well done favorite!

Well written, narrator did a wonderful job! My vivid imagination, had me held till the end.
Only one spot that was confusing, two men were present and only one name was used for both men. I would like to look at this scene in/on a paperback to see what is really happening.
