Publisher's summary

Young Savannah Dubrinsky was a mistress of illusion, a world-famous magician capable of mesmerizing millions. But there was one - Gregori, the Dark One - who held her in terrifying thrall. Whose cold silver eyes and heated sensuality sent shivers of danger, of desire, down her slender spine.

With a dark magic all his own, Gregori - the implacable hunter, the legendary healer, the most powerful of Carpathian males - whispered in Savannah's mind that he was her destiny. That she had been born to save his immortal soul. And now, here in New Orleans, the hour had finally come to claim her. To make her completely his. In a ritual as old as time...and as inescapable as eternity.

IMHO...I ENJOYED THIS NARRATOR MORE THAN ORIGINAL

I love this series. My only complaint...Gregori...should br pronounced...European Greg-OR-ee...not American Gregory...GREG-er-y. Anyone else agree?

Slow down the narration for a better listen

I found it's a much better listening experience when I slowed down the reading speed. At first it came across very monotone but when I slowed it down I was able to catch the inflections & emotions behind the words a lot better

Intense

What made the experience of listening to Dark Magic the most enjoyable?

The main character, The Dark One, Gregori, is intense, in total control of his world and is fascinating for the reader. As his world goes from grey to color, from unfeeling to feeling, the reader is taken through an intense, thrilling story laced with love and humor.

Who was your favorite character and why?

The Dark One

Did Sean Crisden do a good job differentiating all the characters? How?

I know most readers would think his performance was too monotone but he is telling the story of a creature who has walked the earth for over a 1000 years and is in full control of everything and everyone around him. He has not really been challenged to be anything else until his lifemate demands otherwise, then the humor begins.

Was this a book you wanted to listen to all in one sitting?

Not able to do that but yes I could sit and listen to the whole story in one sitting if given the chance.

Any additional comments?

The Dark series is not dark, rather the series tell of a struggle among a species to survive, to protect, one with honor and integrity. I am thoroughly enjoying the whole series.

pronounce the characters names right!

who ever is narrating these books needs to find out how to say the Carpathian names right. Georgi is NOT Gregory! If they can speak the Carpathian language they should be able to get the Characters names correct. Very hard to listen to Gregori and Savannah's story, when his name is said wrong thru the entire book!!

The worst narrator ever!

The worst narration. Horrible voices, and so many pauses and no really flow. The story is great but the performance is sorely lacking.

The narrator

The way he says Gregori is so frustrating, I had to stop listening so many times. He also makes Savanah sound like a wimp. I absolutely love Christine Feehan and the Dark Series. This book is one of my favorites. This narrator just didn't get it.

Gregori is hot!

I love this book. It does have some dark elements but it's still entertaining. The characters were interesting and likable. Savannah was young, especially when compared to Gregori. Gregori is very set in his ways and figures that Savannah will conform to his ways because he is older and knows best. Gregori is wrong about that. Savannah teaches Gregori a few things that he wasn't prepared to learn but definitely needed to. I loved how the story ended. I recommend reading this book. Or listening to it! The Narrator does a good job with the audiobook.

NOT GREGORY

The name of the hero is spelled GREGORI. No other audio book pronounces his name as though it was spelled Gregory. His pronunciation was a distraction for the entire book.

Good...

This book is... good? I don’t know... I’m not sure what I think about it. The beginning is terribly annoying, but after Gregori and Savana moves to New Orleans, the story gets really good, because we change the focus of the couple, to a dangerous plot, I think the author will explore on others books too.
Here, Ithe most interesting is the connection the author does with the others books, and futures book, telling about others characters.
The narrative is perfect. The problem is the ploto f this book. This is the kind of book I read justo n time in life. There isn’t a wish to readed again.

Same old, same.

I've read all the books in the series, so far and they're starting to run together. Although the writing is good, the storyline has become more than monotonous. Carpathian meets life mate, life mate wants no part of being tied down and losing her independence, life mate reluctantly falls in love and gives into Carpathian male who tells her what she can and cannot do, blah, blah, blah! I mean, come on already?? Write a story line where the life mate actually wants the male and the male is reluctant. Or that they equally want each other and are torn apart, SOMETHING! ANYTHING, except the same old, worn out story line.
