Publisher's summary

New York Times bestselling author Christine Feehan's Carpathian classic goes Manga!

Christine Feehan has reinvented the vampire novel with her New York Times bestselling Carpathian series. Now she and Berkley take her "out-of-the- ordinary" (Booklist) in a thrilling new direction—and this time it's more graphic than ever.

Riordan is an immortal Carpathian male, trapped and caged, his honor compromised by his captors. They're in his mind. They're in his blood. And not one can withstand his desire for revenge.

Juliette is an activist devoted to liberating animals from a secret jungle lab. What she stumbles upon is a prisoner like no other. She will release him from his bonds. He will release her from her inhibitions.

Ghostwriter?

Every time the word "penis" was used it just threw me completely out of the story. Was this a Ghost writer? I don't recall that ever being used in previous novels in this series.

Good, but feels unfinished

This isn't a full story, it's an introduction to a new Carpathian and some of the Jaguars. While it can stand alone, it feels unfinished. The narrator is very good, with warmth and inflection, but she mispronounces Riordan, which may only have bothered me personally.

Another HIt for Christine Feehann

Would you listen to Dark Hunger again? Why?

As usual Christine Feehan delivers and interesting and compelling tale. I could listen/read her stories over and over.

What did you like best about this story?

The addition of the Jaguar People into the complexity of the Dark Series give yet another twist of interest to the tales.

Which character – as performed by Karina Galt – was your favorite?

Karina Galt was the single narrator and did an excellent job of portraying of multiple characters.

Did you have an extreme reaction to this book? Did it make you laugh or cry?

This book as with all the Dark Series draws you in and has you feeling along with the characters.

Any additional comments?

My only comment is that as I have listen to other books in this series and other authors works is the I find I have a preference for multiple narrators. As least one for each of the lead characters.

Again way too short!!

I loved this story, which gives us greater insight into another race, the Jaguars, which we have only heard bits and pieces of up until now. I am just sorry that this story was so short. So much more could have been said and done.

Interesting Novella in series

Book14: Novella: Riordan De La Cruz & Juliette Sangria. Not sure if you'd say this was one or two new story arcs with two completely new characters to the series, same as Dark Destiny. This one didn't have a "guest appearance" by Gregori and Savannah. This story does have a whole new location/continent & "family". The brutality of the Jaguar race on it's females is not for the faint of heart. Galt did a good job on the narration, in general, but her pronunciation of Riordan just doesn't sound right.

Short

The story was short and not as interesting as her others. Didn't care for the narrator.

The story of Juliette & Riordan

In a jungle a beautiful activist (Juliette of a dying race) liberates animals from a secret laboratory and stumbles across an unexpected Carpathian prisoner. Released from his bonds Riordan claims Juliette for his lifemate and gives the reader a guarenteed hot, spicy, thrilling story.
