Publisher's Summary

There are worse things than death. Things that lurk in the shadows and slip into your dreams. Things that have no business existing. Things that once slept...but have now awoken.

For Callypso Lillis, the fae magic that now runs through her veins is equal parts curse and good fortune. For the very thing that bonds her to Desmond Flynn, the King of the Night, also makes her vulnerable to the Thief of Souls, a man who wants to break the world...and Callie along with it.

But it’s not just the Thief whose shadow looms over the Otherworld. Des’s father is back from the dead, and he wants revenge on the son who sent him to the grave in the first place.

Des and Callie must figure out how to stop both men, and time is running out. Because there are forces at play working to tear the lovers apart once and for all...and unfortunately for them, death is no longer the worst thing to fear.

Absolutely horrible

Such disappointment with book three. I really liked book one and two. I can never get my precious time back. To any one reading this review save your credit and time. This book was poorly written.

could of had a better ending

I enjoyed the story very much it was funny and kept me wanting more but I did not like the ending.I felt as though the ending was rushed and did not correlate with the hints and riddles that was given throughout the story.

BEST SERIES EVER!!!

By far one of the best series I've ever read. Hooked from the beginning. I honestly cannot understand what some of the bad reviews are talking about because this was so well written and the romance -rediculously amazing-definitely adult romance (insert giddy squeal here)!!! WORTH EVERY PENNY!!! Oh and the last book is soooo not rushed... ignore the crazies telling you anything bad about this series because they're just not true. I will be reading more by this author for sure!!!

I really tried

I sincerely enjoyed books 1 &2, and I was looking forward to the 3rd book and close of this series. It’s seems that the author was too caught up in focusing on the sex scenes. There were just too many. I like a good steamy love scene like anyone else, but these were graphic and super long. I found myself skipping over them because there were so many. It seemed to get on the way of the story line. I had to double check that I hadn’t accidentally selected a book from the romance section. I ended up getting really bored and didn’t even finish the book.

The narrator was excellent and provided a wonderful performance.

Not enough substance

The series should have been ended at 2 books, this one had no real plot and was hard to get through. I loved the first two books.

Way to much description

Although I have listened to all 3 books, it took me quite a number of attempts. Repetitive description of conversation and the monologue of what she is thinking made a good story line drag on. I think the only reason I could finally finish the books was the narrator . The fight and sex scenes are, once again repetitive

A long awaited finale to an outstanding series!!

Laura Thalassa did a wonderful job closing this series. Even though, it saddens me that this series had to end, it was done with the right amount of forward thought that leaves nothing lingering and hope for their future together. 👍

About What Can Be Expected

This book was the best in the series, but the bar is pretty low following the second book. Most of the actual plot happens in the last 30 min and the rest of the book is pretty dull. The main character takes a frustratingly long time to put things together, which doesn’t make reveals feel interesting, just overdue.

A tad long, but with the ending we all hoped for!!

I've listened to this series with such avid anticipation that I was worried things would be built up too much and that I would end up disappointed. I wasn't. The Bargainer and his mate burrowed their way into my heart with their witty banter and unyielding passion as well as power; I'll not forget this series anytime soon. I wish there were more adult paranormal novels out there that don't just focus on shifters finding a mate and having tons of babies. Not all of us want children five minutes into a story, no offense to those that do, but I love me an independent woman that has her priorities in check and knows when and what she wants. It's simultaneously hard to say goodbye, yet definitely time to do so. I was starting to get.... what's the word, not bored, but ready to see this story come to its' conclusion so these two could have their happy ending. There were some parts that I thought they could have sped things up a tad; a little overkill with the banter, a little too much repetition with events (I mean how many encounters with the sleeping soldiers did we need to get the point?), and an end to a 3 book build up that felt like it was such a fast battle even though it really wasn't due to the writing but I think it was because of the constant talking and lack of real, tangible action for such a long time that it didn't feel as genuine when the final battle actually came to fruition. I'm not sure if that was just for me or if others felt the same but I enjoyed it all nonetheless. I truly loved this series and while I'm not sure why the writer waited until the last two books to ratchet up the sexiness and even add in a little kink (maybe to show how the relationship grew and blossomed?), I would have liked more of the intimacy between these two without cutting the entire scene out. I was saddened a little each time things got hot and then we fast-forwarded through to the next day with a statement something like "And then Des and I laid together for the entire night, entangled in each others' bodies". That was a let-down, and it happened a few times. For an adult novel, there could have been more adult scenes and for a fae so dark and lustful, there could have been more kink. That said, those are MY personal preferences and I wouldn't presume to rate the novel lower because of it since it would be giving it far less credit than it is due. We all have preferences for how a story plays out, but regardless of my expectations, this book gave me the story I asked for, with relish. I just want to add one more thing: I freaking loved Temper's character. If there wasn't so much of a continued story line with her and Malachi in this book, they could have had their own spin-off novel and I would've been down to hear it! Anyways, I also want to state that like with the other books, the narration was excellent and while I'm more of a dual POV type of girl (for more than two sentences, that is, since the narrator barely speaks at all in this one), the almost entirely singular perspective fit in this case. It would just be good to warn the readers not to expect the male narration to begin at any minute when it's actually a rarity. Maybe putting it as Featuring: Jay Ben Markson would be more appropriate? I don't know. Anyway, I love the series, I love the writing, I love the characters, but it's time to say goodbye and I reluctantly do so with happy memories of an amazing series.

And Finishes Strong!

This series has had some ups-and-downs, but I'm so excited to say that this final book was so good! I always worry about endings, as often as not they often can be anti-climatic. Then you find a few that leave you with a mix of excited and satisfied! This one delivers! Plus, as a romance series there's plenty of sexy times and steam, but also has plot and some character development, though Call still isn't the smartest/strongest/best lead throughout the series, she's still got a place, and plays her part well in this series, and I really enjoyed seeing how things turned out!

I love this series

Really enjoyed this book. This series is rare because the final book is great - whereas often books seem to go downhill as series go on. The relationship is really strong but still fun to listen to. Yes there’s plenty of sex, but there’s loads of plot too. Good all round!

What Can I Say!

How could I sum up this trilogy? Well, it had werewolves; pixies; fairies; winged creatures; sirens, with a few humans thrown in for good measure. We got more of a view into the Otherworld. It had the fae King of the Night fighting the Thief of Souls inbetween bedding his mate.

I did enjoyed this trilogy, with one caveat; the bad language could have been less and the sex might have got in the way of building more on other characters and plot line.

Fantastic book and narrator

Great trilogy; loved the witty, sarcastic language and the narrator helped really bring the whole thing to life.

The first book started off feeling a bit disjointed but wow does it pick up and suck you in. Funny, sexy, brutal, great characters and relationships.

This review is for the editors/ producers

Loved the book and the series. Also the narrators both read really well. What brought down the experience was the sudden insert of a male voice, not that your voice was not great Jay I just felt it was unnecessary.
