Publisher's summary

An exciting new series from the author of the Amazon number one best-selling horror novel, Rough Draft.

A small town. Three unexplained disappearances. One sinister evil.

Less than 24 hours after the horrific events that forced him to flee his hometown, Lance Brody steps off a bus into a whole different nightmare. The small town of Westhaven seems ordinary on the surface, but Lance can feel the evil lurking in the air... and it knows Lance has arrived.

After meeting two new friends - one of this world, and one of another - Lance learns that young men have been disappearing from Westhaven without a trace. No clues left behind, no answers. Left with no choice but to use his unexplainable gifts - the ones that allow him to see beyond the veil and into the shadows - Lance sets out to restore peace to Westhaven before another boy can vanish... But the darkness Lance felt the moment he arrived will do everything it can to stop him. No matter the lives lost.

Dark Game is the first novel in Michael Robertson Jr.'s new supernatural suspense series featuring Lance Brody. With a troubled young hero, mysterious foes, and plenty of paranormal action, fans of Odd Thomas, Supernatural, and the dark unknown are sure to love Lance.

Good story BUT

Good story and I really enjoy the narrator's voice and performance. BUT it's very distracting to hear what's going on in the background of this narrator's house.

Sense of humor

The author's sense of humor is what I love most. Plot was a little predictable but loved hearing how it played out. The characters are easy to get close to and root for. This and the prequel are my first experiences with this author and I now plan to read or listen to all his other work.

Joe Cliff Thompson read this perfectly.

Thank you, gentlemen, for this experience.

Excellent

This is the first book I have read from this author; it will not be my last. It had just the correct amount of mystery and the supernatural without being gory. The characters were interesting and the narrator was perfect for the story. I anxiously await seeing where Lance Brody's next supernatural adventure takes him.

TikTok needs some new influencers!

I have been reading a lot of books that seem to be recommended and popular… but I feel like I am reading the same book with new characters half the time! Lance and his story have been Much enjoyed and looking forward to the next in this series, which I am starting right after this post!

A fan

This is the first time I’ve listened to this authors work and I really enjoyed it. I am such a fan of horror/paranormal. I look forward to seeing Lances next adventure and hope that him and Lea cross paths again in the series.

Worth it

I decided to give this series a try and do enjoy it so far. There are plenty of twist and turns but there are also some things that hope will improve. Some of them have to do with the audio there are a few glitches where the narrator repeats the previous lines. Also you hear what sounds like someone moving to turn off a recorder between chapters especially between chapters 9 and 10 last 10 seconds. Now when it comes to the story it’s self the only thing I will say is for a main character he gets hurt a lot. I’m surprised he’s even alive with how many times he gets a blow to the head, or knocked out in such a short amount of time.

Likeable protagonist

I enjoyed this novel, especially the main character. I did think that he might have been a bit overconfident at times and a bit hasty at facing the evil without a good plan but it was understandable as he had no clear idea of his own abilities.

A new favorite author

I read about these books on Facebook and they sounded like they were right up my alley. Loved it! Up until 2:45 because I had to know how it ended. Highly recommend!
