Publisher's summary

Rescue might just be the death of her.

Far from home

Fiona Russell has been snatched from Earth, imprisoned, and used as slave labor, but nothing about her abduction makes sense. When she's rescued by the Grih, she realizes there's a much bigger game in play than she ever could have imagined, and she's right in the middle of it.

Far from safe

Battleship captain Hal Vakeri is chasing down pirates when he stumbles across a woman abducted from Earth. She's the second one the Grih have found in two months, and her presence is potentially explosive in the Grih's ongoing negotiations with their enemies, the Tecran. The Tecran and the Grih are on the cusp of war, and Fiona might just tip the balance.

Far from done

Fiona has had to bide her time while she's been a prisoner, pretending to be less than she is, but when the chance comes for her to forge her own destiny in the new world she's found herself in, she grabs it with both hands. After all, actions speak louder than words.

An Earth Woman, a Class5 Ship & an Alien, episode2

Surprise! Or not. The Tecran stole another "Orange", a previously unknown advanced sentient species. Fiona Russell is an Earth architect stolen just after Rose McKenzie disappeared from the same area. When things heat up for the Tecran, Fiona is offloaded to a Garmann commercial freighter. Rose serves as an abused dockworker until she is rescued by Grih battleship Capt Hal Vakeri & his team. She is then kidnapped, saves a Thinking System, has an adventure at a secret Tecran base, & saves the Larga Ways space station.

All 3 current books in the Class 5 Series feature an Earth woman who is kidnapped by an alien race, the Tecran, but is "rescued" by a Grih Captain, another alien race. She also has a special relationship with an AI entity slaved into a Class 5 warship, is given special clothes, & a special weapon. This is the launching point for the M/F/AI characters to have their own adventures, which then link & overlap in a larger story arc. Books 2&3 are 65% plot driven, 25% character driven and 10% romance; book 1 had more suspense & romance.

Well worth the time and money.

Really draws you in. Good plot and characters. Narrator kept it interesting giving each character their own personality.

My chair is broken

Sometimes beautiful people in love creep me out, that's why I didn't give his book a higher rating. I don't mean the physical kind of love, just the emotion. <grin>. However, if that's not you, it's a professional production and a great story, so I recommend listening.

, I'm talking about yourself you're active infection. Maybe someday I'llIt's awesome, obviously the farmers kick ass, so that probably means the reader actor is great, and the producer was careful and professional.

Just as good as the first!

Different setting, a bit more action and a splash of romance. Loved the second book. The female main character is pretty similar to the first and so is the story and the love interest but I found I didn't mind, the story still reeled me in and the narrator is fantastic, I forgot that I prefer dual narration.

More action, adventure & romance in sci-fi space.

There were some moments in this story that was very similar to the first story, but by the second half that starts wane and the action, adventure really gains momentum. I like how there is an excerpt of the next book at the end of Dark Horse and Dark Deeds, it really makes you want to get the next book in the series immediately to find out what happens. To me this is an ingenious way to get the reader to by the next book, especially if they are on the cusp of deciding when to get it. I really liked the friendship that the AI and Fiona created and can't wait to find out what happens in the next book. Defiantly need to read this book in order to get the full effect. Narrator is good, and I would be happy to listen to her again anytime. With the Whispersync all three books are less than a credit and worth the price.

Ingenious world

Spoilers ahead

I think it’s really fantastic that the other race resembles elves, but in a twist it’s human beings that have magical superpowers- the ability to sing and mesmerize, the ability to jump higher and farther, the ability to survive kill shots and see cloaked individuals hiding- the ability to charm AI systems… I love how this writer has turned the tables in sci-fi/fantasy to make being human -in every sense of the word, superior.

The only thing I could hope for is that the romances were not so formulaic. I wish the female characters varied more. I would love to see differences in the male characters as well. I wish they were less stereotypical tropes and more quirky individuals. Though none of these broads should cower if they survive, the reactions need to be more varied. In the series Sex in the City there are four distinctly different types of women -even though they like each other and lunch at the same restaurant. I’d love to see more differences in character…

This is not on the voice actor however. This voice actor is amazing! I love her flexibility. She sings and even attempts opera, while doing far more than multiple genders- she convincingly does voices from different species of alien and manages to convincingly let us hear different characters within that different alien race. My mind is blown by her range!

One of the best books from audible

The story was well written, and the performances were outstanding. This review process is stupid. He requires you to add more than 15 words I don’t ever say much more than 15 words of any book.
